I might see it opening day just to see what constitutes a marvel premiere dorkathon in Lafayette. If not, maybe Monday. I'm not really invested in the super hero movies, and I don't see that many films in theaters, but I'll show up for the culminating 3 hour CGI bonerfest and major world cultural event.
I'm sure the numbers will be huge, but I think GoT will suck a little bit off of it this weekend, and every Sunday after as well.
So fricking Avatar might be safe.

The premiere is this coming Monday night the 22nd. I believe the embargo is lifted that night as well. Going off of TD, Reddit, and deleting every single social media app until after I see it Thursday opening night at 6PM in Dolby. I've deleted google notifications on my phone about all things Avengers just in case some bullshite clickbait "HOW WILL REMAINING AVENGERS DEAL WITH BLANK'S DEATH IN NEW LEAKED FOOTAGE" or other bullshite from comic blogs and the like pops up

I'm all tied up that weekend with family stuff. Hopefully I'll watch it second weekend. I always take my son and his 2 best buds to these films, so it's a matter of them all being available.

I was going to IW with people last year on that Sunday, saw a minor spoiler that Friday left the office and saw it on my own that Friday afternoon

Already went dark on Reddit and Twitter. Will probably go dark on here after Monday, think that’s when the press sees it so spoilers will be everywhere more than they already are. I’ll be there at 6 next Thursday.
It’s a shame. Didn’t have to do that for Infinity War but I really don’t want this one spoiled for me so I gotta take precautions.

Taking the kids after school on Friday for a 4:00 showing. All the tickets for later shows were sold out...the four o'clock show was wide open and got my pick of seats.

Yeah, I didn't even watch IW until it hit Netflix, and somehow managed to avoid most discussion of it. Don't think that'll be possible this time so I got a Friday ticket.

Probably earliest showing Sunday morning opening weekend. May watch it again the following Sunday depending on how crowded/loud the opening weekend crowd is.

I been thinking, and I think I'll wait until somebody records it on their phone and uploads it. Then torrent it. That way, I won't be paying to support Brie and all her "we are women, hear us roar" crap. If I'm lucky, maybe they'll turn the phone sideways.

I'm checking my son out of school on Friday to go see it at 11. It's going to be a surprise. As of now he thinks all the tickets are sold out (which the night time slots are).
