Another false claim but that’s all you do so…

There's literally reviews from people saying they haven't seen the movie other people here has posted about them
My God you're grasping at straws at this point

So where are they? I’ll even grant the one you made up, out of over 2,100 reviews how does one take it from a 9.7 to a 5.2? Do you understand what a double standard is?

quote:I didn’t say anything gets a pass, but trusting unverified data with reviews literally stating outrageous nonsense or admittedly providing a review without even watching the movie over data that actually least has some verification, at least with actual ticket sales or exit interviews is absolutely ridiculous. There is zero logic to it and just having a conclusion and filling it the how to get there.
Ok so then is it enough to disqualify the site and why do the others get a pass when we know they’re engineering scores?
I’m not saying other data can’t be manipulated, but the idea of trusting reviews proven to be bogus over reviews that “may” possibly have been manipulated is just dumb.

But you can verify it because all the reviews are there for you unlike the others. Does it give a 100% correct score, no but neither do the other sites so you can’t disqualify A on the basis of a thing without disqualifying others on that same basis especially when they’re designed to refuse data. I know it would be a chore but at least with Meta you can do your own math to find out how close the scores are. You can’t do that with the others.

RT had it at 97% on Sunday and it was being posted here at “the official rating” by some so just going off that as the presumed “real score” from the pro odyssey crowd.

Well….
Not all of them.
I literally have watched them delete a review. And it was directly quoted with the username in this thread.
Unclear if still in the score or not.

You do understand that a 97 isn’t a 9.7 out of 10 right?
That just means 97% of people thought it was an above average film.

Paranoid hypothetical. Can’t use that

You think I just made it up simultaneously with drizztiger?

We’re going to do semantics now? Drizz is so much better than the company he keeps

Typical reaction to facts

That’s not semantics it is literally the rating system of rotten tomatoes
You are comparing apples and tomatoes.
A 5.6 on meta critic is different than 97% of RT.
Literally 100% could label a movie 3.5/5 and it would have 100% on RT. That is the way it’s structured.

I ain’t reading no 2000 reviews.
I’m just messing. But honestly, even then there is no way to check the veracity of the reviews. However, the first thing would be to discard the 10 and 0 outliers, perhaps more. But people would catch on eventually and chose another rating.
I understand that others may not release their proprietary scoring system, but that doesn’t default to inaccurate. Admitting to not watching the movie in your review certainly does.
Also, I don’t think RT 97% or whatever it is equates to 9.7/10. I don’t think it’s a scale score and is a binary yes/no, old Siskel/Ebert thumb up/thumb down system. Correct me if I’m wrong.

Maybe it is maybe it isn’t I have no proof one way or the other as I refuse to count the reviews on there all I know is that it was there before it’s not there now and the score and percentages didn’t change.
And that’s just one that admitted to never seeing it.
I’m sure there’s many on both sides the good and bad reviews because this movie has become an unnecessary line in the sand.

But you could is the point. You can’t with the others and some you need to have an account just to view them. As far as translating 97% it would amount to between an 8 and 9 for Meta so the point stands that the one example NightDawg provided (not verified btw) doesn’t change the score that much.

Sure but the pattern here isn’t to scrutinize one sides claims. It’s to paper them with personal attacks, presumptions and straw men. I haven’t seen one pro Odyssey person engage with the critique of the other side and the couple posters who’ve pretended to have done nothing but be dishonest about the source material and changes. The only honest arguments I have seen are “I like it anyway” or “it’s making money”.

How did we get from Wilusa to calling it Troy?
That story alone is far more interesting than anything Nolan could or would put on screen. But it's ALL just mythology, so never mind that now.
