If one plans to watch future films, they should.

Wasn't the projection shifted downward by like 15-20 million? So a 'mid' drop after a unabashed underperformance isn't exactly a reason to wave the banners.

But it could still earn a profit, so take the W any way possible, I suppose.

No, high 30s was the best projection. 33 is a bit disappointing. We also have Lilo & Stitch and MI coming up so that might hurt legs even more. I think a finish around 450 is a good guess.

No, I'm speaking of the initial 1st week open. Thought I heard early on they expected a open in the 90+ million range.

Gotcha...yes, some projections had between 80-90 based on presales. That likely means walk-ups weren't as strong as expected

Ok movie.

Trying to elevate B and C level characters to A level is not working. Maybe if there was some development then maybe. I only watch the movies and not Disney Plus. Don't have the time and money to invest in watching everything.

Disney should do a complete hard reboot in a ten years. Endgame was the perfect ending.

Thunderbolts was ok. It is a background noise type movie for me. I wasn't heavily invested in watching the film or the characters.

Worked for GotG. The problem is that the A-listers age out without a reboot.

Just saw it and really liked it. I would rank it around Ant Man or GOT II.

The Yalena character is the best one they have had in a while.

This is what happens when you take some time to develop a character. They didn't just girl-boss her into her role as erstwhile leader, they took the time to build her character (1 other movie and a few episodes in a streaming series) and then use this movie to expand what they had built. They did the same with John Walker. Ghost? Not so much but then she isn't really a focus. Red Guardian? Debatable but he's still a little 2-dimensional for me. Still, like Ghost he's a secondary character so he can get away without being as deeply fleshed out (although we saw some fleshing this go-round).

The movie wasn't Avengers good, but it certainly wasn't Defenders, The Marvels or Eternals bad. The story was original (I like better how they've introduced Sentry and explained Void in the movie over how it was done in the comics) and fun. The moments of cheesiness (most of which involved Red Guardian) weren't bad and some of the surprises (like the girl getting shadowed) were well timed and executed well. I'ld like to know more of what's happened between the end of the movie and the "14 months later" snippet, but am very interested in seeing how it ties into the reveal at the end of it #nospoilersfromme#

Overall, for me it was worth the ticket price and a decent mid-level (maybe upper mid-level) Marvel movie.

Some spoilers below

Saw it again and it really is one of my favorite post Endgame MCU films up there with NWH, D&W, and GOTG 3. Always nice to see Bucky show up especially now that he's out of Cap's shadow his dynamic with Red Guardian was pretty fun as well as Yelena and Bob's dynamic.

Speaking of Sentry dude is supposed to be stronger than Hulk or Thor but unsure if that woman was just spewing shite. Regardless he is absolutely extremely powerful if he can control his other half he'll be a pretty significant force in Doomsday. Or he might get one shotted to show how massive of a threat that Doom is.

Also that after credit scene might be a misdirect and it's actually Doom on that ship with the F4 coming in elsewhere

Coming to the end of its cinematic run, Thundbolts* is a massive failure.

10 Biggest Reasons Thunderbolts*'s Box Office Is So Disappointing

Thunderbolts* has become a box office disappointment for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and some reasons help explain why the film did not manage to live up to expectations in that regard. Thunderbolts*'s star-studded cast and ensemble nature seemed to make the movie a lock to become a hit at the box office. While I never expected it to get close to $1 billion, I agree that Thunderbolts*'s current $374.5 million global total (via Box Office Mojo) is disappointing.

Scarlett Johansson Asked To Have Her Credit 'Removed' From Thunderbolts*: 'I Wasn't Involved'

She’ll always be a supporter — but it doesn’t look like Scarlett Johansson plans on involving herself in the Marvel Cinematic Universe again any time soon, to the point where she recently asked to have a credit she was given on Thunderbolts* removed.

“I asked to have my credit removed because I wasn't involved,” the Black Widow star revealed in a recent conversation with Thunderbolts* star David Harbour for Interview Magazine. She had told Harbour, who reprised his Black Widow role as Red Guardian in the film, that she hadn’t seen the movie yet (the interview was conducted on the day Thunderbolts* came out). Harbour then pointed out that Johansson was an executive producer on Thunderbolts*, prompted the credit request reveal.

Harbour joked, "You hated the film that much?" But she was quick to clap back. "No, you're just wanting that to be the case," she told Harbour before confirming that she is “proud” of the folks involved in the film.

IGN

(Yes, proud of who she worked with, but not so much of the movie they made)
