Waiting 2 weeks for the other 45 minutes is torture.

another glowing critical review

This is the type of series that comes around but once in a lifetime, a groundbreaking and absorbing drama that is utterly unlike anything else on television today.

Miss this impressive and stirring drama at your own peril.

Was going to watch the show and then read ACoK afterwards. I couldn't wait and just got back from picking it up and will start it tonight.

I really loved the 15 minute preview, the wall looks AMAZING btw. They definitely changed the Others from how I imagined them. I thought of them more as these silent warriors with crystal swords, the show made them seem almost like feral beasts. It was different, but I still loved it. That little girl scared the shite out of me though

I'm on the second book now. It does get tedious at times, and there are some characters you wish the author would stay with longer (you'll see what I mean). I found 4 books online and put them on my Nook.

was planning to watch anyway, but after the "preview" this is a definite on my tv schedule... Think I'll order the first book now, too. I was looking for something to read next anyway...

loved Lost but this is funny

RT @DamonLindelof: George RR Martin is terrified of "pulling a LOST" by ending Game of Thrones shittily. In related news, my therapist just hit the jackpot.

The little girl and the Others scared my wife a bit, it's gonna be difficult to get her into the series.

What do you mean? It gets more tedious with the supporting characters? I'm ready for it to pick up a little, although when it packs a punch, it's a real wowzer. It'd be cool to see what Tyrion would be like as a damn king. I think he would be a good one...to a degree. But it wouldn't be challenging enough for him. He'd be bored.

You've got a ton of oh shite moments ahead if you're still on ACOK. He's saying AFFC is prob the slowest of the 4

I deliberately avoided the spoiler stuff in the other thread so the surprise factor wouldn't be lost. Someone made a comment about Tyrion that leads me to believe that he dies. I fricking hope not...I like the Imp. He's a shrewd motherfricker, very well written. I keep envisioning him as looking like Samson from Carnivale.

My jaw did pop open at some of the oh shite minutes in the first one. I like unexpected stuff. I've not been able to read much for the last 30 hours or so...I'm exactly halfway through the second one. It's killing me that I can't read when I want.

Largely b/c it's half of a book. Due in large part b/c that MOFO Martin is trying to find anything else to do other than finish the series.

Just my $0.02.

The Imp is definitely one of my favorite POVs.

No need to rush through the books. Take your time and enjoy them.

On hogville a few friends and I have a long thread dedicated to ASoI&F. It's almost 50 pages long.
