Yea. I don't get this. Pretty easy to avoid. Or are we supposed to just praise everything?

Most people I know thought it was one of the best hours+ of TV ever, or at least close to it.

The issue at hand is what exactly people are upset about.

From a CINEMATIC perspective, yes the show was beautiful. And that's what they want people to focus on. It was a 10 out of 10.

I can separate the cinematic from the story. The story and execution of plotlines has some objective flaws.

The reason this show gets so much flak versus similar series is because (as you stated) it started off as one thing but effectively became the very thing it was parodying.

Which is simple : as the show became more popular and they didnt have books, they just decided to make it the same type of traditional story with only a slight twist here or there.

What? I simply said that complaining about the writing declining is not anything new or interesting or even controversial anymore.

So it’s just tiresome for some posters to keep repeating it over and over again.

You've been melting long enough. Let's enjoy the ending we get instead of endlessly bitching about it.

1. This in a movie/TV forum. Where else would bitching be more appropriate?
2. Don't tell me what to enjoy or bitch about. Worry about your own shite.

The majority of people I’ve seen both on internet and talked to in real life were not that big a fan of the direction that episode took at the end.

This is true.

The show has become conventional and it will have a conventional "dawn of a new day" ending, just like every ending you've seen a thousand times before.

Don't agree with this. Both my friends/family and co workers are split on it.

Majority of the people I know loved it. Got the typical "frick yea my girl" group text when Arya did it.

But anybody I know that actually knows the story in depth is indifferent or hates it.

The show is just pandering to it's hype now.

So he is sort of right that the majority loves it. But it is now the 2nd lowest rated episode ever for Thrones.

The show producers met their goal with a cheap, pandering, focus group ploy.

The masses loved the ending of episode 3 the same way they love Taylor swift.

This is what GoT is now.

Screw the writing. The direction of the episode wasn't even that great.

D&D have bungled plenty of great moments from the books. Wouldn't surprise me if that's the case again
