Do you think DeNiro and Pacino were born outside of the US?

Haven’t seen anyone mention his portrayal of herb brooks in Miracle which was phenomenal. Greatest American sports moment maybe in history and he nailed the most important piece of that movie.

I wouldn't put him in the "greatest" category of Americans Actors. I would drop him to one level below as a "great" actor.

What I will do is place him in the "most versatile" actors category if there was such a lit.

Three Kurt Russell threads on the first page, I had to use the google to see if he'd died.

I can honestly say this about him. I never seen a movie with him in it and thought I didn't like Kurt Russel in that movie. Whether the movie was Great, Good, Okay, or Terrible. The worst part was never Kurt Russel. So just for that I say yes.

2006, Russell claimed in one interview that he had ghost-directed the hit 1993 western film Tombstone on behalf of credited director George P. Cosmatos, saying he gave Cosmatos shot lists.[40] Russell claimed Stallone recommended Cosmatos to him after the removal of the first director, writer Kevin Jarre, but Cosmatos had also worked with Tombstone executive producer Andrew G. Vajna before on Rambo: First Blood Part II. Russell said he promised Cosmatos he would keep it a secret as long as Cosmatos was alive; Cosmatos died in April 2005.[40] Russell said he did not get a chance to edit his version, but Vajna gave him a tape of "everything on the movie" and that he might try to "reconstruct the movie", although he would need to go back to the script and all his notes.[40]

I knew he had ghost directed Tombstone, but the part that is cool is his promise not to discuss it until the credited director had passed.

You put Pacino anywhere near a list of great actors? He's been an over-acting ham bordering on self-parody since Scarface.

No. A good actor, but I wouldn't say great.
