Are we just talking about war movies? If so, I'll go with Mr Roberts:

Henry Fonda
Jack Lemmon
James Cagney
William Powell
Ward Bond

It's because of Looper. Was a popular movie among the M/TV board and that is the first movie where he was legitimately good.

Seriously? That movie is fricking awful

I wouldn't say it is awful. It's not great, but it is definitely his best movie.

1) People who've never seen a movie made before 1990 should be prohibited from using the phrase "all time"

2) Any film with Josh Hartnett is disqualified from consideration for best cast

Sam Shepard reminded me of another movie I thought had a really good cast and was done really well, Brothers. Tobey maguire really shocked me with his performance. Surprised he didn't get nominated for best actor.

I like tombstone but I always thought Kurt Russell was kind of shitty in it.

He's the main reason I can't take that movie too seriously

It's nice to see a western have so many younger fans, but there are innumerable better westerns than Tombstone

The idea of looper was great. They could have followed through MUCH better.

I watched A Bridge To Far on Memorial Day:

Laurence Olivier
Sean Connery
Ryan O'Neal
Gene Hackman
Michael Caine
Anthony Hopkins
James Caan
Maximilian Schell
Edward Fox
Elliott Gould
Robert Redford

This doesn't even include bitpart players like
Ben Cross
John Ratzenberger
Richard Attenborough (also the director)
Paul Maxwell

But The Longest Day even has that beat imo.

Nothing beats "It's a Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World".

It was made to have the best casting of all time, and the only movies I can think of that come close are the Oceans movies.
