Absolutely not. In fact, I would advise against it.

Just got the quadtrilogy in a few days ago. Looking forward to seeing Alien and Aliens. I'll see about 3 and AR.

3 was decent, I wasn't blown away but I'll watch it. Resurrection was just kinda, meh. The coolest part was when they showed the Alien swimming.
Alien and Aliens are two of my fav movies. I have them both. They both kick arse but in different ways.

Actually, one of the writers has suggested there are unifying elements between Prometheus and Alien other than just being in the same universe. Is it a direct prequel where the end leads directly into Alien? Probably not. But the rewrite did not eliminate all elements of Prometheus being a forerunner of Alien. Read the article.

Don't waste your time with 3. 4 was watchable but not nearly as good as the first 2.

so speculation.... is the alien in prometheus going to look like the alien in alien?

Don't think there is going to be an alien in Prometheus. I think it deals with these "creators."
