The parents are an interracial couple, the son/main character is your typical gay teenager. Even the dog is crippled(3 legs)

Oh and don’t forget the father who placed his career/legacy before his family.

The overall story is about the earth being a living creature and how the things that make our lives easier are killing the earth.

It is already a massive bomb. Even Variety and Hollywood Reporter are calling it that and they usually cover for Disney.

This makes two big time Disney animated movies in a row that flopped this year. First Lightyear and now Strange World. Has that happened before in modern times for Disney?

They just cant get it through their thick skulls that parents don't want to deal with identity politics in their children's movies. They just want to take their kids to a nice outing and relax for a couple hours.

I don't think Disney will stop though. They will push ahead and just call everyone racists and homophobes for not liking their agenda filled garbage. They are sacrificing so much revenue because they are afraid of their woke employees.

On the bright side this does create a huge opportunity for another studio to fill the family void at the box office. Alot of money to be made in kids entertainment.

I will say I watched Lightyear with my boy recently and thought it was pretty good. I think there is a biracial couple in it as well as the lesbian thing, but all in all it wasn’t super noticeable and didn’t stand out. But the movie itself was pretty good.

I do agree that I don’t want or need identity politics shite in my movies though, especially kid/Disney ones. Yet Disney keeps shooting itself in the foot with this shite and will wonder why revenues are tanking.

Haha I’ll go ahead and give you the parents and gay son but how is a crippled dog and career focused dad woke? As an overworked, career focused, breadwinner with kids, I can attest that it isn’t an optimal situation for me or my children. The struggle and desire to find balance is real and certainly not woke.

I’m honestly asking as I don’t have any context to go on aside from your OP.

Don't forget Turning Red, which they released as straight to streaming so they could skip the embarrassment.

Like I said, Iger was possibly the cause and will be nowhere near the solution to bringing back pure Disney content (by pure I mean content with good writing, character development and depth instead of social justice preaching). It's going to continue to get worse because wokeness spans far beyond Disney. The best solution is to turn it all off and let Disney dissipate into nothingness.

Let Hollywood kill itself over their dogmatism. They're still deep in the green and people still watch their shite out of habit and they know it. Every parent still plans to take their kid to watch the next iteration of Dumbo, toy story, star wars, etc. They don't even think about the actual content.

Really? Every tiny detail of these movies is combed over the fully implant the tenets of social justice advocacy/progressivism. These people go to insane links to prop up even the smallest progressive ideas in their content.

The 3 legged dog is obvious, it throws a bone to the "disabled community", which is seen as a part of the victimhood block of the progressive movement.

Jon Fetterman's wife even got pissed at ABC for asking about his stroke with her crying about them being "ableist".

The career-focuser dad I'm sure was the bad guy, or was revealed to be an example of moral failure during the movie in contrast to a more feelings-based/feminine approach, because one of the tenets of social activists dogmatism is the feminization of men.

So what is the “agenda” exactly? That seems like pretty much every other kids movie storyline.

To be sure, you're walking a thin line approaching some of these topics. I haven't seen the movie, but if the dad was cast in an overly negative light for this, that would be bullshite. Most men that have gone down this path did it with the best of intentions to provide for their families. If the character was portrayed more as feeling some remorse for not finding more balance in the past, I don't have a problem with that.

Again, its all in the approach.

Feelings based does not equal feminine approach haha. Holy crap is that line of thinking a huge problem with the world today.

This is one of the biggest pearl clutching stretches I've seen in awhile. Jesus Christ..

Whichever extreme side starts being more rational first will win the war. Hopefully that doesn't take as long as I think it will.
