The fact that there are people in here trying to normalize reviews like this and essentially ignoring it is beyond wild.

and also believe this represents the fall of our proverbial Rome.
Have you read Roman history? It’s feeling pretty similar to the Fall of the Republic right now.

omg no.
not even close.
stop comparing the US to Rome. It's a terrible comparison.

He’s the last man standing. This time 10 years ago, he was the furthest on the Left for late night hosts. Now he’s the furthest on the Right. It’s not Bill whose changed (save for a case of TDS) it’s everyone else has. I’ll be shocked if his show makes it to 2022 since he doesn’t have to say anything new for the Woke culture to cancel him.

Not comparing us to the Fall of the Empire, just the Republic. I think it’s still 30 years off, but our trajectory is right on course.

Actively ignoring it allows it to appear as if it is the only viewpoint prevalent, resulting in the situation we are currently in where it is the sole viewpoint that is driving society.
what world do y'all live in? no one is actively ignoring anything
everything is a reaction to a reaction

That does not mean that the majority of individuals agree with it or believe it, but whether or not they have majority support is irrelevant when only a singular viewpoint is allowed or pushed.
It then gives the false appearance of majority support.
the viewpoints in the OP are not the only viewpoints being allowed or pushed

what % of "society" do think these views represent?
5%? maybe?
Is that the % of people who vote for leftist candidates? Whatever that % is, they are represented by these views.

Again no. That's just flat out wrong. We aren't organized like the Roman Republic.
We don't have senators and generals rolling around with private armies. We don't have a massive system of slavery or the uprisings that came with it. We aren't at constant war with any nation that could come and sack our cities in retaliation if we lose a battle to them. We don't have politicians regularly murdering each other in purges.
We are nowhere near to having a Roman like collapse.

You're basically saying "our government isn't set up exactly like the Roman Empire, so it couldn't possibly collapse." Surely you realize that is a ridiculous position to hold.

I have no idea because I have no idea what is considered a "leftist" candidate anymore

Every government can collapse.
But we are not the Roman Republic just before it collapsed. That's a ridiculous assertion. We are nothing like them. To say so completely ignores nearly every aspect of what Rome was at that time.

There are people who think things will continue to cruise along for another 200 years.
It shows how dumb our society is.

It’s not going to be verbatim what happened, but if you look at the Roman timeline, things can be compared. The Punic Wars line up with the World Wars, the Gracchus brothers line up with the Kennedy brothers, and Trump was a much more pathetic Gaius Marius with Biden/Kamala serving as a pathetic Sulla. People around my are looking around at this and learning, so I would not be surprised if the American equivalent of Caesar, Pompey, Crassus, Cicero, and Cato are in their 20s-early 40s right now taking notes.

Ummmm, that and Athens were kind of the blueprint for America. They’re definitely comparable societies.

Ok but for that to happen our military would have to fracture to the point that generals would have their own dedicated followers who then followed them to Washington to take over and install them as dictators. That ain't gonna happen.
I'm sorry but I think you are trying to place stuff together that really does not work.

I’m more seeing a splintering outside of DC. You don’t really have to physically be or go to a city with the type of warfare (information or otherwise) we are capable of today.

It's crazy a thread about movie reviews that were upset that the actors were from the wrong Asian nations/backgrounds (without actually checking to see if there were enough people from those places to fill those roles) turned into a dissertation about the Fall of Rome and the Parallels to American Society.
That being said, it is possible America will "fall" - but it is also possible it will "evolve".
England/Great Britain never fell, but if you only look at it from the context of the monarchy wielding power it did fall, gradually. France did so, but violently, but France is still France.
Did the British Colonies "fall" to become the United States, or did they evolve into them?
I believe that the problems with our country are not so "cut and dried" as people want them to be.
People on the Left feel that the Right hates minorities, hates the poor, has no desire to help anyone but themselves. People on the Right feel that the Left is about changing everything, abandoning the core concepts of society, and taking anything a hard working person has ever earned and give it away.
Both are extreme viewpoints, but I seem them ALL THE TIME from the side doing the accusing, way less often from the side being accused. The problem is with the information age, you get a resonating echo chamber compounded with the loudest voices being the most extreme.
I think the Internet is one of the greatest inventions in human history; and I don't think we were ready for it or know if we ever will be. It should have brought together so many differing view points, weighing the merits of each and figuring out a way to get past those differences with the accumulated knowledge of all of humanity.
Instead... well, just go visit the PoliBoard or Reddit.

There are literal riot fences around the capitol and White House that have been there for like two months.
Also, the obsession of gender and homosexuality is something that pops up and becomes a big culture fight in every successful empire before the downfall.
