I think it was implied it still basically had a master and would have likely given the money to its master. I hope the droid comes back. Like The Mandalorian fixes it up and it becomes his droid
Also pretty sure Taika Waiti and Bryce Dallas Howard are directing some of the episodes this season along with Filoni

Really great episode. It definitely had the star wars vibe throughout, and the cliff hanger at the end with baby yoda was very unexpected! I can't wait to see what they have in store throughout the season. Pedro looks to play the part perfectly, and I wonder if he'll ever take his helmet off.

Great start. Has that Western look and feel to it. The music was phenomenal as well. Baby Yoda got me hooked.

I’m willing to bet he will but not in the sense of the regular timeline.
I think we’ll get flashbacks of him, not just as a kid, and he won’t have his helmet on. I bet they tease it a lot, him taking it off but they wait until Season 2

Yeah, they mentioned the helmet a few times. I think it will be a while before we see him without it

Im not a huge star wars fan so can someone explain to me the metal armor on Mando?
I think i remember one of the goons in the opening scene asking if the chest plate was really something(missed the word)
then i wasnt really paying attention when he turned in (what i thought was credits) to the blacksmith who made him a new shoulder piece.

Beskar - it was a metal that the planet Mandalor was renowned for - but only the Mando's used it.

I think it is cool that he could upgrade to Beskar iron over time and eventually have a full silver armor. Kind of video game like.

Its the same species as Yoda. Not necessarily Yoda
