For two simpleton, innocent, stumbling their way intuitavely through transcendent lives told narration-style movies, Little Big Man and Forrest Gump come to mind.

And for two doesn't know they're dead already trying to fix things tales; Jacob's Ladder and Sixth Sense.

No snark intended. I realize that not all of the ones on that list fit the same plot abstract, but it's a great place to start. I started a thread on here a long time ago about that very thing. There were lots on there that I never even thought of. It's very reminiscent of Campbell's work on Myth Theory, and there only being a handful of actual original stories. Most all after that are variations on a theme.

Hell, every romantic comedy is like that.

I know you are looking for movies, but I can think of a few TV shows that are basically the same.

A group of friends that live in New York City that go through life's challenges; love, heartbreak, careers, ect.

Friends and How I Met Your Mother

Main character tells his life story and is heard narrating the stories throughout the show

i would imagine there are more than a few " teen moves to new town, falls for the popular guy/girl's SO , wins him/her over and eventually has to fight the popular guy/girl , wins and becomes the new popular.

ETA: singer becomes involved in a singing group, makes the group tons better. then has a falling out with singing group management, leaves the group, group figures out that they suck without the new person, group members beg group leader to reinstate new person.

Two new movies starring Ryan Reynolds: Criminal and Self Less. They are basically the exact same movie.

Criminal:
In this slam-bang action thriller, a violent death-row inmate (Kevin Costner) with a rare brain condition undergoes an experimental procedure to implant the memories and skills of a deceased CIA agent in an effort to thwart a terrorist plot.

Self/Less:
