Hard to believe Affleck was fricking her for a while.
Dude outkicks his coverage on the regular. Getting Jennifer Garner not just to marry him but bear his seed? Mystifying.

I think the term outkicking your coverage has officially jumped the shark
Not to simp for affleck too hard here, but he’s a very tall (relative to hollywood standard), handsome and extremely rich as one of the most famous leading actors of his generation. It’s almost impossible for him to outkick his coverage in that sense

Ana de Armos Marilyn Monroe biopic on Netflix Blonde gets an NC 17 rating. Niiiiiice.

He has a lot going for him, but his back tat is a huge point deduction. So yeah, outkicking his coverage.

Will sell it to my wife as a "psychological thriller".
last night we were picking between this and west side story. i knew my wife had wanted to watch WSS, but missed it being in theaters due to holidays and covid, so i pushed it thinking i'd have maybe gotten lucky. she fell asleep. and it was good but depressing.
sounds like i should have gone the other way.

Idk how else to say this but Girls don’t rate guys in the same way the OT rates random Internet whores

The wife and I watched Deep Water and Newness, both similar in terms of relationship films about openness and/or infidelity. Both feature beautiful leads, Ana de Armas and Laia Costa (with nudity). Deep Water was terrible, it was boring and slow. Affleck was monotone the entire movie and the wife was impossible to like. It was simply bad theater. Newness was an improvement over Dark Water. The screenplay was better, the acting was better, and it was easier to connect with the characters. Save your time. If you want nudity and a good movie watch Newness (on Netflix).

Agree 100%. Don't get me wrong, AdA is a fricking smokeshow, but let's not act like Affleck isn't obscenely wealthy, good looking, and one of the more famous actors in the world.

I agree and what is this "Newness" you speak of?

I suggested this instead of deep water to my wife and the “poster” on Netflix. It was blatantly showing a threesome. That wasn’t going to happen.
So we watched Deep Water. It wasn’t badly acted or directed by any means but slow. Not psychological and not very thrilling. It’s not bad but the suspenseful moments were just kinda “oh, that happened.”

Yeah, that was a bit of false advertising. The only threesome in the movie involved some kissing before fading out and leaving the rest to your imagination.

I watched this movie, and man it was terrible. I swear I saw a trailer a while back that was decent. But this was just a bad, bad movie that makes very little sense. Sure, AdA is nice but she’s terrible in this and so is Affleck. It’s like he wasn’t even trying. And the plot was just weird…(spoilers)
What’s his end game here? Surely he’s not dumb enough to think people won’t notice that every guy his wife likes/fricks turns up missing and dead. Not to mention how sloppy he is with the killings (or at least the one in the pool.

This reminds me after thinking about it over a day…
WTF was up with the snails? I expected some sort of payoff with them and it was just the wallet (which should have just been tossed out along the road in the woods.)

I think it was mainly to show what an odd person Vic was. Also, I think his snail den and it’s weirdness mirrors the weirdness going on in his marriage. It’s like his wife is driving him off with her infidelity and then he has another bizarre snail world he can retreat to and is not driven away from. I thought the movie was pretty good—not great—but not awful either.
Here’s my question: Where were the gorge scenes filmed? That area looks like nothing I’ve ever seen near NOLA or south Louisiana.

Inthink he is kind of odd looking but I'm not a chick so what do know.
Bad movie but Ana De Armas makes it worth the watch.

Maybe around St Francisville. Kisatchie National Forest looks like that. Louisiana as some beautiful wooded lands that a lot of people don't know about.

I was so confused that ol baw rode his bike from uptown acrosss the tunnel on the WB and ended up back in what looked like uptown/Garden District.
Then somehow found a very nice Tennessee looking creek of running water to hike at.
I'm trolling, but it is hard to take a bad movie seriously when you know the area, at least somewhat, where its filmed. All in all, not a great movie. Ben getting cucked out the whole time and lack of an ending or purpose, or any real consequences.
ETA: The old lifted Ford Bronco was the best character in the movie. As for the "gorge" scenes, as mentioned above, St. Francisville and a lot of CenLa and North La have creeks in Piney forests like that. There are a few smaller waterfalls around La besides Tunica Hills (granted they are much smaller), but a good many clear creeks. I noticed that hill the guy tried to climb up to get away from Ben looked a lot like the soil near creeks around CanLa and up, or non-coastal Mississippi. However, as its a movie, that scene could have been filmed anywhere.

Yeah, I’m not sure how people are confused that he gets hot women.
