I don't think you really understand what happened. It was Kyle Gass's birthday during a show they had. While the cake was being brought out, Jack asked Kyle to make a wish. Kyle responded "Don't miss Trump next time"
Jack and Kyle completed the show, but then Jack released a statement saying that the band would go on hiatus for a while as he didn't agree with the joke.
Call it protecting his brand, or putting out a fire, but it's clear that Jack wasn't in agreement with the comment.

Yeah, I'm not going to hold it against him enough to avoid his movies. It wasn't like he said it.
I thought Dear Santa was decent. The reveal at the end was a surprise.

Is that it? So my point stands. Also, it was just the other dude that said it. Jack Black clearly didn’t support that sentiment. But there’s no way people are that big of snowflakes that a much beloved, wholesome, talented actor having a different opinion on politics than them is the reason they don’t want to see a movie. Seems absurd but I guess we live in that world.

We've come a long way from our founding fathers debating with each other over the things they disagree on, such as independence from Britain, to where now you aren't allowed to disagree with someone's politics without being canceled
