quote:

Digger is unlike any film coming from a major Hollywood studio in years, at least in my memory. It makes sense it comes from Warner Bros, which is the one major that seems to take real swings with big budgets, directors and stars in films you might say are risky business. Some work, some don’t: It paid off last year big time with Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, which swept through awards season and the Oscars. But Digger, with a character-driven, head-spinning performance for the ages by the world’s biggest movie star Tom Cruise and an urgent message-laden satire about the world we are f*cking up from multiple Oscar-winning but undeniably auteurist filmmaker Alejandro G. Iñárritu, takes things much further and thus could be one of the more divisive movies for the masses in a very long time.

And it goes from there...

Inarritu and Cruise means I'll watch it.

Same

Will be more compelling than 99.9% of the soulless pablum

that already clogs the arteries of all streaming services not named Criterion.

Apparently I am arrogant and fart-sniffing, because I can't figure out what's wrong with the portion you quoted.

I did. There's a bit of tongue in cheekiness but nothing anal or gastric related. The guy just loves the movie.

Is it the notes about the environment as a plot point that has you upset about the secondhand farts?

Winning awards doesnt mean its good

It means it tickled the fancy of elitist leftists in the film industry

That may be (I have no idea, actually), but he makes original movies that I tend to enjoy.

I don't follow what any of these people say to the press or media. I don't know what their opinions are on anything. I just watch movies with actors I enjoy and made by directors I usually like the work of.

Supposedly there is some really ultra eftist climate nutjob stuff in it, to an extreme extent.

One Battle was the same, but technically a masterpiece. I expect this will be similar, but the choices of colors and shooting in this one crazy.

Some of you are either incredibly sensitive or really bad with putting words together. Or both.

And very bad at providing evidence that clearly supports your claim, apparently.

You led with the quote of the review to garner a reaction and it clearly didn't hit. The rest of the review is moot at that point.
