Anything dripping with a gutter like atmosphere or gives you a sense of impending doom throughout.

See the Sea
Seven
Inland Empire
Melancholia
Pi

Those in no particular order.

Not sure what all you mean with this but Pursuit of Happiness is about the most depressing movie I have ever seen. The 30 seconds of happiness for the main character doesn't make up for 2 hours of pure depressing bullshite.

Never seen that movie but Im just talking about ones that are perhaps nihilistic in nature and kind of keep you in it's own moody world through the whole experience.

Another good movie of this example is Man Bites Dog. Camera crew follows around a serial killer as he commits acts of horror.

two that just came to mind are

changeling and children of men.

Those two aren't the top, but they popped in my head
