the Velocity Lab trio (Leighton, Amanda and the Black security guard girl) are all giving varying degrees of bad performances IMO.

I agree, especially the security guard, but I'm really digging the show.

Good show so far. JC is great but the other female is a boring not very good actor.

Really enjoying this show, for AppleTV it's not "can't miss" the way I view Severance but it's still very good.

I feel the show is much like how I felt about the book. It’s entertaining but kinda forgettable. To me Recursion is a much better story. Upgrade is on the same level as Dark Matter.

Another good episode last night. I think I just like seeing where they end up when they go through those doors.

There is now an alternate Dark Matter thread on this page trying to take over our spot.

Hope they don’t try to take us back to their Tigerdroppings M/TV board.

Recursion is better, but they’re close in my book. I would love to see that story adapted.

Nah, Upgrade was arse. It’s not as unique, and half the book is just filler reciting gene sequences. The final thoughts on the theme of empathy was interesting, but the rest of the book was a bit of a chore.

I've gone back and forth from "it's ok" to "it's very good" - but yeah, worth watching I think. It drags a little from time to time but the last couple episodes have been strong.

Apple has done a really good job putting together "original" (book based) content that isn't particularly formulaic and is going to seem weird/unique to most of their audience (DM, Slow Horses, Severance, Silo). I've really appreciated that.

This episode has completely confused me. I think I know what’s going on, but it’s just thrown a massive curve ball.

Apple TV has been knocking it out of the park lately. Been watching this and Presumed Innocent, both great shows!

It was a good season. The finale kind of made a lot of things fall apart logically, but I’m interested to see how they handle it for season 2.

SPOILERS

So there are all these “Jason 1s” but only one original origin point? How does that work? There’s just gonna be a bunch of dead and alive Jasons all over Chicago now?

Wouldn’t there also be infinite Amanda’s and Jason 1s? Why did they all arrive at the same time?

The season isn’t over. This wasn’t the finale.

Great show. Jennifer Connelly needs to have a hamburger.

keep in mind until recently the box was surrounded by concrete so they are just now starting to filter in. for example the jason at the bar with original jason got there a day before.

For convenience, say the origin point was when the original Jason 1 (Jason Prime) and Amanda first escaped Velocity by going into the box. They then spent 3 episodes jumping through different worlds, with a lot of different choices being made between both of them, and spawning an exponentially growing number of variant branches.

Each of those infinite Jason’s originally came from the same universe, where Jason 2 abducted them. That is home to every one of them, while most are presumably lost to the multiverse forever, numerous ones found the way to navigate their way back and all converged in the same Prime universe.

One thing the show changed was all of Jason 2s box frickery after the abduction. IIRC, he never goes back in the box in the book. Having him jump around numerous times, and each time knowing how to actually pilot the box and get to the correct destination, without spawning infinite Jason 2 variants who end up back in the Prime Universe, is a major plot hole.

I took the series of events to mean that you couldn't get back to this world if you were still with Amanda. Guessing they all got clarity of mind soon after she left.
