supa hit the nail on the head, absolutely zero personality and just dull looks altogether.

the chick from magnificent 7, Haley Bennett, should be getting much more pub.

Alexandra Daddario as Anastasia Steele and Ryan Gosling as Christian Grey would have given that franchise some legitimacy. Instead you got two wooden actors in Dakota Johnson and Jamie Dornan.

Why did they cast this chick for these fifty shades of gray movies?

Mom is Melanie Griffith and dad is Don Johnson. Pretty sure that did it.

She's non threatening. She's pretty without being too hot, thus she won't alienate the mostly female audience. No woman wants to see a Emily Ratajkowski type (for example) banging a hot dude in a movie.

I'm sure the book was much more explicit

It was. I never read it all the way through..because, duh...but a coworker had it at and I thought it would be funny to dramatically read passages from it.

Lo and behold, the first page I turn to has ol' boy yanking a tampon out of her coach. I almost fell out of my chair.

Same reason Kristen Stewart was cast in the Twilight movies. The movies are meant to appeal toward the female demographic - make the average woman think that this could happen to her, or that she wishes this could happen to her. If you cast a really hot female lead, the fantasy becomes unattainable for the average woman - because the premise is you then have to be hot to get all of this. If you cast an average looking actress, you sell the fantasy to the average woman.

From hearing women talk, the bigger issue is the casting of the dude.

I tried to watch it but it became an unintentional comedy. Sure Dakota is a cardboard box but that dude just cannot pull that role off. They really bombed with the casting.

She's terrible, but the book reads like it was written by a 12 year old, so it's oddly fitting.
