And as a giant media conglomerate, Disney doesn't have to pay off a lot of journalists - because they already pay them salaries, because they work for the numerous Disney-owned media outlets.

As I pointed out earlier, Bright is a perfect example of how critics are influenced or bought.

I don’t think anyone can argue that that movie isn’t getting shite on for certain “reasons”.

Is it not understandable to apply the same to TLJ?

Exactly. I watched it with my two nephews, two brothers and father during Christmas Ages 8 to 68. We all walked out saying that was fun and talked about a few good scenes. The only complaint was the 8 year old saying “there were two many girls.”

It was a fun sci-fi movie and I enjoyed it. But I wasn’t expected a movie to be the highlight of my holidays and lose sleep if the character arc of an alien was sub-par.

I might email you. That’s a bit of a skip and a hop for me, but doable.

So because Sony got in trouble for this, it's proof that Disney is doing this?

Don't be such a Pollyanna and act like you just crawled out of the womb and are a baby version of Claude Rains.

You're trying too hard to act like the RT critic's score is legit.

If you want a legit rating, look at the audience score.

Why are all of these people so irrationally invested in trying to make this money some kind of masterpiece and getting so pissy with anybody that disagrees?

Save that shite for a real masterpiece like Casablanca or Predator.

I would re-watch Bright several times before I sit through TLJ twice.

Going to see this movie is like giving your best friend a courtesy sniff of something they find to be rank. You know it's bad but do it anyway out of near obligation. Fortunately for me I've never been to a theater to see a SW and don't plan on it now.

I didn't watch any of the moderns til deployment, off someones hard drive, and didn't see TFA til it hit Netflix. I pity all of you who let entertainment bother you so much.

No you’re just irrational for not liking it. That guys kids, dad, and brothers all liked it so there’s just something wrong with you for not liking it. The people who dislike it just need to get a life. People who liked it don’t let crappy movies bother them, they’re just better than you.

The responses from the critics/Advocate staff are just so beside the point;

Someone pointed out the film made $400 mil so far. So what, it's Star Wars and the tickets went on sale a month before the release.
The money the film made on presales was due to loving the brand, and those are the fans that think the new movie is hurting the brand.

You realize you are simply describing a family outing, right? I mean, I've gone with family to football games where the Saints or LSU lost, and we all had a good time together. It's the family part that makes literally anything bearable.

You also notice the 8 yr old picked up on one of the gripes, right? And that he's just too young to be politically correct about it yet.

The point was three generations of people watched the same movie and enjoyed it. Don’t over think this. And why do people care that there are more girls than guys? Think that says more about y’all that you have an issue simply bc they are female. Who gives a shite??

IYO - if the genders of the characters were reversed across the board and women and girls left the theater complaining about the treatment of female characters... would they have a legitimate complaint?

Yes they would. If the women were treated the way the white men are.

From what I’ve read everywhere about this movie and the feminism it isn’t that women have a big role, it’s that all the white males are treated like crap and made out to be stupid, macho and arrogant.

That’s not equality. So if women were portrayed the same then they would be right to be angry

Exactly. What this movie is looks more like misandry masquerading as feminism. The golden rule applies. If you would not like it done to one group then don't do it to another.

well, you're the one saying the 8 yr old had this complaint.
So tell me, what's wrong with that kid, are you going to get him into therapy?

Seems more like the exact opposite of this is what is actually happening. I don't see anyone calling it a masterpiece.
