Seems all the fun and great coming of age movies are pre-teen, teen, or college types. Thought about this with the recent brat pack threads.

Other than This is 40 I can’t think of a lot of coming of age or getting through a mid life crises sort of rom coms or light/dark humor?

Leslie Mann for your troubles:

Coming of age usually means reaching adulthood.

So you should probably come of age before your mid life crisis

American Beauty is obviously drama but it has more than it's share of dark humor.

The Secret Life of Walter Mitty - Walter Mitty (Ben Stiller), an employee at Life magazine, spends day after monotonous day developing photos for the publication. To escape the tedium, Walter inhabits a world of exciting daydreams in which he is the undeniable hero.

Another Round - Four high school teachers start an experiment and drink alcohol throughout the workday to see how it affects their social and professional lives. Just a heads up, the dialogue is Danish but I’m sure there is a dubbed English version. Lead actor is Mads Mikkelson.

Really enjoyed that movie, shocked how much I enjoyed it.

You could argue all the Vacation movies arre mid-life crisis movies.

Watching parenthood right now
Not sure it qualifies as midlife crisis, but it nails the ups and downs of family life.
Steve Martin saying “women have choices, men have responsibilities”, and “my whole life is have to”
Jason Robards’s speech about there never being a finish line hits me in the feels every time.
I dont think I ever watch this movie without tearing up.

I think Monster's Ball kinda fits the bill as a mid-life crisis film.

Great movie! And great cast too!!! It’s so relatable to most American life.

“He likes to butt things with his head.”
“How proud you must be.”
