The original Karate kid movie was probably my favorite movie from my childhood. This series has been very enjoyable for me. I went thru season 3 completely in less than 24 hours

I wish these were an hour each episodes instead of 30 minutes. I want more!

What puzzles me is Sam no longer fears Tory and no one at merged dojo fears anyone at cobra kai so has to be new person

Just finished the season and loved it. Loved it. It was FAR better than S2. They really handled all of the old characters really well. Kumiko looked great, and honestly all of these people look amazing for mid to upper 50s. Even Chozen looked good for his age.

Loved how they handled Ali too. Loved that they didn’t wait until the end of E10 to bring her back. And E9 with her was awesome how they dabbled with them getting together but ultimately used her to allow Johnny to realize his feelings for Carmen. That entire episode was damn near perfectly executed.

I still absolutely fricking hate any time the kid characters are on screen though. It’s so overblown and dramatic, and the amount of illegal shite that they seem to literally get away with is annoyingly unreal. Plus most of the kid actors are just shite anyway, with Tory and Hawk being the worst offenders. And all of the long, drawn out fights that never end feel awkward and stupidly choreographed.

And the outright, straight up attempted murder in the show is hilarious. I guess the cops are this season’s ever-non-present teachers. Attempted murder, breaking and entering, assault, etc. Zero cops. And where the hell are all of the parents?

I loved how Tory is randomly Michaelangelo and a fricking nunchuck expert. Same with the Rhea
Asian dude. He’s a wrestler and after a few weeks is this master karate fighter? It’s weird.

Good for Demitri to get him some Yaz love. And they’ve completely fricked up Hawk’s character but it’s good to see him stop pretending to be a badass a-hole I guess.

I loved Kreese at the council meeting as well. He plays such a great villain a-hole. And I was actually glad he called out Danyasa’s daughter for her bullshite. They try to make her the victim in the show but most of the shite she gets into is literally because of her own doing. Like the laser tag fight that she started practically on her own.

Actually enjoyed some of the Kreese backstory too. Can’t wait to have some Terry Silver back in my life for S4. And hopefully Mike Barnes makes an appearance too. They really rebounded well from last season. This was as good as the first season IMO. And that’s in part due to more focus being on Danyasa and John again and a little less on the kids (maybe that’s why they feel the need to be SO overly dramatic with the kid storylines).

This show does such an amazing job of recognizing the absurdities of the original movies and poking fun at them with little jabs in the present. And also using those previous happenings and flashbacks to create and push stories in the present. It makes fun of itself very well and still manages to pull off relatively serious and meaningful moments from time to time.

We should refer to Daniel San as Daniel Meet Me at Sanic going forward.

This would be really bad for the show, and frankly surprising, if they did that, given the anti-PC tone of the show.
