Agreed. I'm picking Bill Murray over Chevy Chase any day of the week. I mean, if I had to choose a team from the big Caddyshack who's the biggest star with the heaviest ball sack debate.

This cumbucket gets to work with Alison Brie. I am so mad right now.

anyway, i think there are other guys who could pull off pierce hawthorne. that show brought him back to being relevant. and then he went all chevy chase on it.

Completely agree. I feel the other characters are very indebted to the actors that play them. For Pierce, you just need another crotchety, old, white guy. Find someone new, who preferably isn't so crotchety in real life.

Yeah, that formula NEVER works...

Tht show is the only funny thing Chase has done in the last 20 years. He should be thankful.

i think he was great in the eighties but was awful in Community. to be fair, it's not all his fault. his lines/jokes were mostly terrible and stale. you can't do deadpan humor without clever writing

Yeah, because if there's one thing that Community certainly isn't is "clever". Jesus, it's a show obsessed with how clever it is.

Have you ever watched Community? Chevy's character doesn't make jokes. He's the butt of jokes.

probably because he never wanted to use the ones the writers gave him.

exactly. so why are people bitching about him not being funny. he's never played the punching bag before. you can't blame him for letting the other cast members take the spotlight

if i was a Walk of Fame comedian, i wouldn't be too thrilled about having to be the butt of jokes all the time either. i dislike the character, not the actor

Meh, I think the character would have been written a little differently had the actor been someone that was either easier to work with, more willing to go with the flow, or more adept at improvising.

Unfortunately they are both assholes as far as their personalities are concerned, and both are pretty sleazy at that. Still love their films but as people they kind of suck.
