Closing credits. She’s supposed to symbolize the dozens of other scientists who worked the disaster

I’d rather one lady than 19 more names I can’t remember.

Yes she was made up. But women were actually well represented in science, engineering, and academics. The Soviet Union was fairly progressive in this regard. Though certainly not in party leadership. This was covered in the podcast.

But I do agree that this made up character was given a very clear conscience

What an awesome mini series....that was fantastic in every way. It was so good that......

.... it exposed that the AZ5 button to end The Games of Thrones was also seriously flawed and would lead to a destructive explosion once D&D went to shut down that series.

D&D got sliced and diced by gamma rays.

“Chernobyl” is on track to become the highest-rated TV series ever

The images they showed at the end of the "dozens" of scientists who helped out had about...3 or 4 women I could make out. I guess they needed a female lead, but at least it wasn't totally out of the realm of historical possibility.

I saw that. I was referring to his rant about the creators patting themselves on the back for adding a woman to the cast.

It’s fascinating to me that some people get all worked up about pointless crap like that. They can pick a guy or girl for the role, they pick a girl and people get bothered

People always say they don’t care about women in roles as long as they don’t go all SJW and girl power on us. This show did neither and we still get complaints.

Just finished and incredibly fantastic. Makes that abortion of a game of thrones finale look like finger painting next to a Van Gough.

Script, cast, story, acting all top quality. Makes me mad at D&D even more for being lazy pieces of shite scampering off to do their little Star Wars movie., instead of putting together a coherent story.

Seems the point went over the whole thead’s head. Only one other person knew the backstory about the podcast but its not really about her. I just didn’t like the one other character.

Here’s my groupthink opinion though. Great series! Fantastic writing! Better than GoT ending!

goddamn, they got the technical part fricking right and also how that interacted with the human factor to blow it all sky high. Well done.

Best miniseries HBO has done short of band of brothers.
