I'm really interested what they do after Apocalypse. Seems people are done and can they really reboot already? Not that the new movies weren't amazing, but still. Maybe teaming up with Disney could convince some of the actors to stay around, but then there's the whole timeline issue

You could do this with literally ANY character you didn't like. It's not that hard to break down a fictional super hero as ridiculous.

Of course this true, but gambit never been written as anything more than a 2D character. As far as tropes go, he brings nothing to the x men that wolverine or cyclops doesn't already bring.

Please God let this be true. Tatum was fine in 21 Jump Street, but I can't take him as a legit actor. I would like a real actor for Gambit please.

He's probably posturing through the media to get some last minute incentives. Tatum will get what he wants, and the kids will get their bad, unnecessary Gambit movie.

And I don’t want to hear it, Gambit fans. If your dude were really so awesome, nothing resembling this sentence would appear in his Wikipedia entry: “Standing in the cold, scouting the Weapon X facility, Remy couldn’t bear the cold and swore he would steal a long, stylish jacket in New Orleans after the mission, which he did.”

Omg, is this actually from the comics?

Honestly, if this character had the same characteristics and his backstory was he was from Boston ("pahk the cah") or from La Jolla ("Dude!") the Gambit backers on here would think he sucks.

Fox should do the smart thing and cut a Sony type deal with Marvel after Wolverine 3 and XMenA.

Naw. I'd rather keep the X-Men out of the MCU. Its going to get too crowded. You can do that in comics, but thats tough in a movie. Spidey makes sense, because Spidey has been the face of Marvel for forever and prior to Iron Man/Downey was the most recognizable IP in the Marvel Universe.

Jackman is out, JLaw and Fassenbender's contract's are up.

I sort of understand Jackman, and I respect him for sticking with the character despite his success as an actor. Jackman really put in work on the role and never phoned it in once he got successful in other roles and became a bankable star. It would've been easy for him to say "no thanks", but instead he got jacked and owned it. As a fan of the movies, I say "thanks bub."

Meanwhile, J-Law has her Oscar, and Fassbender doesn't seem interested. Both are great in their roles, although J-Law would be easier to replace than Fassbender. I love him as Magneto.

I doubt it. No way Tatum or his agent would let contract disputes get this much into the media. It's awful business and the last thing he wants is to get that reputation.

Never really saw him as Gambit anyways, I'm sure he would do fine and I'm sure he could even pull of a serviceable accent, but I feel like a number of actors could play this role well.

I nominate josh Hartnett. Could be his breakout role 13 years too late.

For some reason I've been wanting this to happen since Peal Harbor.

This.

The only reason that we have an Avengers franchise is because FOX and Sony had already taken Marvel's A-List heroes.

Add X-Men to Marvel Studios and we lose Black Panther, Dr. Strange, etc.

a Gambit solo movie sounded awful and they were mainly doing it to appease Tatum, so it likely would have been pretty shitty.

I bet it would be awesome if Jonah Hill was in it with him.
