Bananas said he'd give Devyn some of his winnings if she took out Zach

So how much time does Laurel win by? Over an hour?

I do like that at least it's total time at the end. So not like whomever comes in first in one leg gets an XX amount time lead over the others to start the next leg. At least you always get to start at the same time. That means a lot IMO.

Yeah they did that in Rivals. Didn't Kenny and Wes have like a huge lead after the first day but only got like a 5 minute head start the next day.

This has got to be my least favorite MTV challenge yet since they started. Two of the weakest people by far have yet to see the draw. Bananas bitch arse (sorry HC) voted in Cara which might have been the most womanly thing to do ever and Nany goes along with it. Why vote her in to elimination when she has a fricking broken hand? Johnny and Devyn get past the draw again and CT and bananas battle it out in a puzzle elimination? Come on

To top it all off, which I am sure has been asked here before, not once do they mention why certain players get to pick first when it comes to the draw. Mathematically there is a clear advantage to picking first and I have yet to figure out how they decide besides the order in which they walk out in front of the boards. Seems like an easy way for the show to manipulate the elimination opponents to the best of their ability.

Why would they manipulate it to keep crappy people in?

Bc it creates drama filled eliminations.

Explain how they decide who flips the draw cards first.

I can guarantee they didn't manipulate it for either Bananas or CT to get eliminated.

You'd have to go back and look but maybe it was who had the best time in the previous challenge.

Nope I've looked at that. How you finish has no bearing on the order of the draw

Then maybe it's just random order. I dunno.

The most drama filled eliminations were Laurel/Cara Maria and that was going to be a blow out(guarantee no producer would rather drop that storyline so Devyn can die in a Final) and Jordan which was all on him.
And if they want a drama filled elimination with CT and Johnny(which should be big drama) it won't be with puzzles.

We've all said from the beginning that Laurel won this the minute she got on the plane. Her only weakness is that she has good, not elite, endurance. Someone like Cooke could beat her in a final., and maybe Rachel or Evelyn. But she is going up against the single weakest player in the female pool as well as a habitual smoker who is borderline retarded. Surely the Bunim Murray producers wrote the 125k check to Laurel Stucky before the kayaking began.

On the guys' side, damn is Johnny Reilly lucky. It is harder to predict what is going to happen but I can't figure out who will win. I thought it'd be Zach, but I wonder how the kayaking will play out. If they DQ, they're out. I am fairly sure I saw Zach hiking in a preview, so it looks like they got back in the boat though. And as awful as Devyn is, she may not be as much of a liability in another challenge, especially if it is a puzzle or eating gross food.

I think whichever guy gets Devyn in the challenge where she is the least of a liability will win. I really hope it isn't Bananas.

I do like how it is based on overall time and each contestant has to work with all of the people of the opposite sex.

Final prediction: every guy gets money. Only Laurel and Nany will on the girls' side though,

dont think so.

let's say there are 4 cards and one kill card. person who picks first has a 25% chance to go in. these are dependent events so the probability that the second person goes in is the probability they draw the kill card (1/3) times the probability that the first person doesn't (3/4). 25%. the probability that the 3rd person goes in would be 3/4 x 2/3 x 1/2 = 6/24 = 25%. so that example has it all square.

3 people, 1 kill card. 1st person is 1/3 or 33%. 2nd person is 2/3 x 1/2 = 2/6 = 33%. leaves 33% for the last person.

4 people, 2 kill cards gets a little more complicated and i dont feel like doing it.

I've thought about that as well, and it has to be a predetermined order by the showrunners. Like they'll tell them where to stand or which order to come down in. Surely they thought of that. Although you're wrong on the math though...statistically, they all have the same chance whether they pick first or last.
