Looks like they were still talking and working it out in the end a month later. She probably realized how big of a count she was and realized that dude is the best that her fat arse can get.

I'm not sure. One potential theory is these people are incredibly lonely and they think by giving them money/stuff the person will stay around.
It's a shitty theory I admit but I'm just taking a shot in the dark.
