The irony is astounding and you continue to pretend we’re going from paper to screen for the first time when in reality these are already visually established characters.

We are. They are adapting from the books, not the movies. The the point of making the show (besides $$$) is to include storylines that were cut from the movies due to time constraints.

You can throw out the films as far as the series goes. It will be based on the novels.

lol so were the movies. It’s the same universe, company etc. it’s just expanding and rebooting the same thing the movies were. I get that you have to be dishonest for your narratives to even be considered for debate but don’t expect others to follow your delusion.

Yes, the movies were adapted from the novels.

Now we are getting a series adapted from the novels.

Not sure how this is confusing to you at all.

We arent getting a series adapted from the novels and movies. They are only using the books to adapt to the series. Its a new adaptation.

Race was completely inconsequential in the harry potter universe

Just wait until they flash back to calling Severus a "mudblood." In a world devoid of racial strife, HBO just injected it.

Yes, it is.

From your link

quote:

J. K. Rowling on X: "Non-bigots in the wizarding world would say half-blood. Pure blood supremacists would say mudblood."

I stand corrected, this is the first time I have ever heard that explanation.

although I do not believe that was the original intent of the words, they even say in Chamber that a mudblood is someone born of Muggle parents

I’m normally someone who laughs at others getting riled up about this but this is a huge misstep by WB.

This dude could give a generational performance as Snape and no one is going to give a shite

Because it wasn’t. You really think Malfoy would miss a chance to call Harry a mudblood when he calls Hermione that shite ALL the fricking time. This is one of her dumbass changes she likes to retroactively make to make things worse. She’s like the George Lucas of the literary world

I always assumed it was the same. Made sense. I've also haven't read all the books but there were a few mentions where they were intertwined, apparently.

Also

quote:

The potions textbook has an inscription indicating it is Property of the Half-Blood Prince.[31] Hermione Granger's research revealed that Prince was the maiden name of Severus's mother and so the nickname was revealed to be a combination of his mother's maiden name and his blood status.

I will, I ate the casting right now, but im not ready to start a blood feud over it. If he does a great job then he does a great job and I can acknowledge that as well and say i was wrong.
