puts all of the hits in the Godfather to shame imo.

I really think it could have benefited from some more editing (in other words, removing or shortening certain scenes). It's fantastic movie, but I think it drags on.

My thoughts as well. And structurally it's out of whack but it works

Kind of like Scorsese makes voice over narration work so well

The first Godgather and Goodfellas are the only mafia movies I would put as GOAT status. The rise of Michael Corleone along with Brando's performance are what made it better than 2, IMO.

Casino - wasn't a bad portrayal of the real life story but Sharon Stone and her character were so annoyingly disgusting and unlikable in the movie it turned me off. Joe Pesci's nutcase character wasn't as interesting in Casino as in Goodfellas.

The Freshman is underrated as a comedy and as a part of the Godfather series of films.
