Don't get me wrong, the wife and I like it a lot but so many of the same actors, so much of the same storyline.

King Killed by wife, Chancellor killed by wife.

Incestuous brother and sister seize power.

Weird freaky beings everywhere.

Littlefinger ... blue haired pix.

No faces assassins .... puck organization.

Factions setting up to battle with one another.

Constibulary is crooked .... so where the kings guard.

Witches dying.

Illegitimate children popping up everywhere.

Contraband runners on the seas becoming useful allies.

Flea Bottom .... Carnival Row.

Too many similarities or not enough? I am probably forgetting a few.

Regardless, it's a neat new show. Binged it in about a week. Wife likes it better than GoT

I feel like this term doesn't get used enough on this board.

It's usually not my angle. I can take a bit of it with no problem. It's when it takes me out of the story that i roll my eyes

I've watched it 4 nights in a row now and im just into the start of ep. 3. I fall asleep watching it every. single. night.

Not reading the posts so it's not spoiled but does the political aspect slow down? They jump into the political aspect too fast without much explanation, like you're already supposed to know who the divisions are.

Yeah .... well no actually but the political aspect does eventually tie-into the more important aspects of the show. Destined love and the fight for good against evil.

There is also a lot of implied magic and conjuring and racism and all that typical modern day jazz. Incest, interracial banging, illegitimate children who will take over the world and so on and so forth.

That lifting you up so you are floating while she is riding you looks like fun.

Game of Thrones is over

Get over it. Life moves on.

Your “theory” is dumb.

While it wasn’t my favorite show ever...I enjoyed Carnival Row. But at no point while watching it did I ever say “wow this is just like GOT!”.

All it did was make me miss Copper and Penny Dreadful.

Copper is like an American version of Ripper Street.

Neither did I - I typed "just another take on GoT?" But as always with you ....

Do you ever get tired of being a stark raving luniacal contrarian interloping bish?

Nevermind, it's just a "theory" ... carry on. lulz

Oh, and it was a question not a hypothesis or a theory. A simple question.

Dude you are weird as frick

Carry on

ETA: To refresh everyone’s memory.....you are the guy that got upset that a fictional show about a woman that time travels 200 years in the past wasn’t historically accurate enough for you.

Even when we have disagreed, I have respected your analysis on the Politics forum.

As to Carnival Row, its parallels to Game of Thrones are ... nonexistent.

And you are the gal who is still harboring ill feelings over my misgivings about Outlander's historical accuracy when it came to Scots Irish presence in the Carolinas and our complicity in slavery.
