Even when we have disagreed, I have respected your analysis on the Politics forum.
As to Carnival,Row, its parallels to Game of Thrones are ... nonexistent.
Fair enough. Same to you from my perspective.
Still, the parallels are obvious, (see my comparisons above), there is no denying them. As to whether or not they are intentional, that is the question.
Proof for all the lesser minded people out there .... LINK

On episode 3 and it's very good. Faerie sex was cool. Do not see any similarities to GOT but does have cool insight into immigration especially in the 19th century.

I really liked it. I also connected it to GoT, but not at all in the way you did. I simply thought it was a very good story with the potential to have heaps of world depth.
The main thing that reminded me of GoT was just the fact that it seems to be a historical setting with fantasy added in until you watch and realize that this is a completely fabricated world a la GoT or Arda(LotR).

GoT's popularity definitely is going to spawn similar style shows. I find that to be a good thing. GoT had a big budget and included a lot of gore and sex with some politics mixed in. Not much to hate there. I enjoy fantasy themes, so that's good with me too.
That's where I see the similarities and I am ok with people trying to find something to fill that hole now that GoT is done. GoT is even doing it with prequels and spin offs.

It's usually not my angle. I can take a bit of it with no problem. It's when it takes me out of the story that i roll my eyes
Did the something to me. Like you said I can handle a bit but towards the end they are just ramming it down your throat which is disappointing because I was enjoying the story. They made about everything revolve around race.
