She’s standing on the shoulders of giants and you want to crown her Goliath. I guarantee they’ll have to pull some gimmick for her sequel - if she gets one - to get it to these numbers again.

You''ll pardon me for ignoring the "guarantee" of the guy that said it wouldn't hit $400 Million domestic or $1.1 billion global.

The complaining about the movie is ridiculous.
Was it a top 5 MCU movie? No, but it was still solid and enjoyable.
Feminism wasn't beaten over our heads like some suggest and Brie's performance wasn't that bad.
It's in the same class as Thor, Ant-Man, Cap 1 and Iron Man 2. Not great, decent. Everyone needs to put their agendas down and stop looking for something that's not there.

And it hasn’t.
Still say it won't catch Iron Man if you factor in inflation?

It will cross both. It's showing strong late legs.

Eventually. Still won’t pass the vastly superior Wonder Woman movie even with having every advantage over it. Well except for having a lead people actually like.

I agree with you that wonder woman was a much better film, but CM will pass it. WW finished at $412 mil, domestically. CM will easily pass that total.

Already destroyed Wonder Woman's global box office in 3-1/2 fewer months.

With a $153 mil opening, $400 million should have been a certainty. It won’t reach that.
It has passed 400 million today. It looks like it will make between 410-420 before its domestic run is over.

It’ll be around 418-420 when it’s all said and done based on comps.

She's outperforming every MCU "cold" origin story ever made.
Because the last 10 years of universe building and literally the lead-in to the biggest movie of all time most likely has nothing to do with it
Think about what Marvel just did. They took a previously pretty much unknown obscure comic character and "outperformed" it's biggest and most famous properties.
They could have literally made a movie about the Marvel character "Cloud" or some other terrible, little known character, slapped in the tie-in for Avengers at the end of the IW post credit scene, and then used it to lead-into End Game, and anyone they use would have performed the same.
If nothing else, the movie/character performance is a direct result of the MCU and Phase 2/3, despite how average the movie is. Black Panther has similar circumstances bc any movie they put out right now is going to perform like a monster. Tie in the fact they are featuring minorities, Girl Power! etc, then the entire picture becomes clear.

This guy gets it. If you wanted to see this movie before Endgame, you had to see it in theaters. They made it seem like necessary viewing with the post credit scene for Infinity War.
In reality, it’s the least necessary MCU movie since IM3.

Makes perfect sense and also explains Ant-Man and the Wasp's total box office dominat.......oh wait.

Did Ant-Man and the Wasp get promoted and advertised as the lead-in to End Game over 3 movies?
Oh wait

Not really. They were pretty up front about it being an origin movie set in the 90s throughout the promotions.

Neither did Captain Marvel.

They made the end credit scene in IW, the tradition scene EVERYONE watches for, after everyone disintegrates with the snap, to have Nick Fury get a pager message from Captain Marvel, a character no one has heard of, before Fury himself is snapped.
They could have promoted CM anyway they wanted, people were going to see if for the tie-in to End Game. If you can't see that you are blind. You can't convince me otherwise. Marvel just made their most important end-credits scene of all time, a tie in to the Captain Marvel movie. That scene alone was more promotion than any trailers.
