For the $750mil breakeven,
Lets be honest, this (and most other marvel movies) "broke even" the day it was announced. Toy licensing rights alone make it a financial success. How much money do you think Marvel is getting from Funko, Lego, etc? Every 10 year old girl is going to be Capt Marvel for Halloween.

I wouldn't bet on that. I just spent a weekend at a Comic Con and I saw one person dressed as Marvel Captain Marvel, and she was a pro-cosplayer who had MCM as one of the many outfits she wore that weekend.

I don't think there is much crossover between "pro cosplayers" and 10yr old girls. All these adults that dress up - especially the females - usually like to look as sexy as possible. Capt Marvel doesnt exactly show a lot of skin. While that might not work for the adult cosplaying crowd, it will play very well in the suburban mom crowd.

The first two things he claims are fiction could both be facts.
The first absolutely was not a fact in the context it was being used. A big blockbuster movie always experiences a big drop from Sunday to Monday so anyone putting out headlines saying that drop meant the movie had no legs or indicated poor word of mouth was either being purposely deceptive or is woefully ignorant of how the box office works.
The second is unknown but the best estimates on the combined filming and advertising costs have been $300 million which would likely put the break even numbers below $750. The source being cited for the $750 million number didn't even say that $750 million was needed to break even. It was just a clumsily written sentence.
Regardless, every single one of those involves deceptive twisting of facts to create negative clickbait headlines and all four of those have been parroted here by certain posters. The guy in the video didn't even like Captain Marvel. He's just pointing out there is a certain contingent of people who at best are extremely ignorant about how they are covering the film.

My point is that in a con full of little kids in cosplay, there were zero girls dressed like Marvel Captain Marvel. Wonder Woman and Black Panther are still represented, even though their movies were from previous years. As soon as Black Panther was in theaters, there were kids at cons dressed as Black Panther. Not so much with Captain Marvel.

That's splitting hairs

Using his own estimate of taking home 1/2 domestic and 1/3 world wide, it would need to do $400 domestic and $300 worldwide to break even. That's $700mil. Obviously this movie will be a money maker for the studio. That was never in doubt. But like he said, no one knows how much it actually costs to make, so $750mil some crazy reach regardless.
The bottom line is that dude showed in his first two points that he has just as much of an agenda as anyone else.

And there are others that can't hear anything even perceived as negative. It takes two to tango

His agenda was calling out click bait BS as the click bait BS that it is. He didn't even like Captain Marvel and gave it a bad review.

Remember when you were pretending that you weren't doing that.
That was fun. Clown.

But his explanations aren't as cut and dry as he presents them.

That's not really relevant to what we're talking about.

If you are going to claim he has an agenda it kind of is. Not liking the movie in question actually gives shim a little more standing when defending it from click bait articles.

It doesn't have to be that the agenda is with regard to the quality of the movie. This is again what I'm talking about.
I liked the movie, can yall stop trying to say I didn't yet?

His defense is just as clickbaity.

Disagree considering the context of his video.

Just watched it. Larson's acting was atrocious. Bland with little emotion. Most of her scenes were not believable

LOL at Disney and Marvel buying up tickets, and movie theaters having 10-20 no shows every showing for opening weekend.
Movie theaters claimed they have never seen so many tickets no used, after being purchased.
