Captain Marvel played best on the coasts, but was huge all over. Read our previous update on how Captain Marvel was Teflon to the Internet trolls who griped about Brie Larson’s sincere call for diversity in critics, and how men are the leading demo for the female superhero female, which was not the case with Warner Bros./DC’s Wonder Woman. Disney reports that men turned out at 55% to females’ 45%, and that latter demo could well grow in next weekend’s exits. Disney did tee this off for female audiences with an opening release date on International Women’s Day.

Why would I be pissed that the film did well? I said before that Brie Larson looked wooden and bland in the role and that is the consensus coming out of it.
I also said her comments were stupid given the demographic this movie was targeting and that still stands.
I never once said I wouldn’t see the movie or hoped it bombed.

That's a question only you can answer.

At first you said after premier, now its after opening weekend. After you are wrong again, whats next?
I saw the movie last Thursday night at 10:15 pm. There was maybe 8 people in the theater.
However, the 7:15 showing was close to sold out. This was in Dallas.

Troll better Cuckeye.

I'd be happy if Brie was living in a homeless camp and eating cat food.

I'm not surprised to see you pretend you haven't been whining for weeks.

Wether I decide to buy a ticket to see a movie for whatever reason, then it deserves the money I spent, even if I decided not to see it. Same with any body else. A movie’s merit, commercially, is exactly what it earns commercially.
It won’t get there based on individual merit

The only people obsessed with what others think is you, and you have multiple posts on almost every page to prove it.
Oh look. All the cuckeyes are in one place. Guess we now know why you accuse everyone of alting.

quote:Since it only had a 13.6% drop from Friday to Saturday, and the average drop was 29.6% for the other 24 movies that had over made over $60 million on its Friday opening, there isn’t any early signs of poor legs.
Now the question is if it will have legs.
I doubt it will have Wonder Women level of legs (final gross was 4 times opening weekend), but I think $500 million is possible. I think $450 million is the most likely final total at this point in time, which would be better than average for that size of an opening, but not the among the very best.

So do you. At least I'm honest enough to keep it to one account.

How pissed are you that the film performed well?
Have you seen the prices of tickets lately? Have you seen what’s out in theatres right now? This isn’t surprising at all. One thing Disney has down to a science is the strategic release of their movies

Well, no, not to anyone with any sense.

Disney will also hold theater chains hostage with their releases as well.

In other words, ticket prices haven’t suddenly increased dramatically where $153 million is suddenly not impressive. In fact, it would have made over $100 million in 2002ish ticket prices. And Spider-Man was the only movie to meet that milestone prior to 2004 and only 4 movies met it prior to the 2007.
