Critics opinions matter when they fit my beliefs!!
ETA: Also, I was probably the only guy on this board that both liked Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and was excited for this movie. . .even with the stupidity of a Hulk/Squishy-Guy fight.
But feel free to tell me all about my beliefs, pumpkin.

This is categorically false.
It’s accurate. I didn’t claim it originated in ‘07, but did gain prominence from the article & then subsequent re-mention by Rush Limbaugh.
And the commentary plays into the Mary Sue version of the “can do no wrong“ black character. Sam Wilson was more than fine as Falcon, but now he has been bestowed “magical“ plot armor and hand me downs from other characters simply because the story requires it.

I was browsing RT and several of the negative reviews are upset it doesn’t explicitly go after Trump harder, that it’s “too apolitical.”
It’s like they are totally oblivious to how poorly movies have been doing when they include all the stuff they are complaining this movie lacks.
I’m going to see it tomorrow night. I don’t have huge expectations but honestly those negative reviews make me feel like I’ll like it even more.

Wikipedia synopsis, while missing a lot of details, sounds like dog shite

Oh yeah? It might be a great movie after all!

what kills me about how polarizing the reviews are, is people bitch about agenda, political views, blah blah blah being forced into movies - and when they do not, the bitch about that too.

F it, my time and $ will be better spent elsewhere.

As if anyone thought you'd actually watch this movie even if you pirated it, much less go to the movies and see it.

Hell, I paid for Blue Beetle AND Black Adam in theater.
And no, not the freaking discount showing either.
And why would I bother pirating it ? The time alone isn't worth the effort.

kudos to you. I only watched Blue Beetle b/c my kids wanted to. It was goofy and cheesy, and sort of liked it.
Still haven't seen Black Adam, and just don't care to.

The time to pirate something? I just downloaded the cam version of this movie. Took my all of 2 minutes to find it, download it, and move it to my plex server.

Me too, brother. Me too.
I saw The Crow remake a few months ago in the theater. Beat that.

So more marvel movie universe scam nonsense. You always have to watch the movie to understand the next movie and the next movie.

Shocker that after all those reshoots and changing the story up the movie turned out to be a giant turd and everyone knows it
Who could have predicted this ?

I expected this to be the case if the film wasn't woke enough. The show was overloaded with political stupidity so journalists probably went into this expecting more of the same.
The "not enough Trump criticism'" thing is just sheer stupidity though. This movie was completely put together before the election. I guarantee you the writers/editors/producers/etc believed he had no shot. They likely wrote the plot before Kamala was installed as Dem candidate and didn't want to draw comparisons to Joe.
