Wrong poster, I didn't say that, you're having a hard time keeping up.

"So not shelved"
I never said 'shelved'. That indicates taken off the field, not used, put away.

Shoved to the side is similar enough. You're mincing words because you're desperate for a win
That's the premise of the article. And the "rumor" that Chadwick wasn't happy.
Knowing they were going to elevate Shuri, and knowing how the MCU elevated ALL female characters, it's impossible to believe that " Sure, all those others were intentional, but THIS one movie, gosh darn it all, Chadwick up and died, so they HAD to do the same thing with Shuri! What ARE the odds?? "
The plan was already in motion. Whether Chadwick was going to die or not.

I invented none of it.
Prior to Chadwick dying, this article comes out and says these things.
Just look at the timeline and how things played out.

Is there any way we can keep this incessant back and forth to a separate MCU sucks thread. We have 32 pages and nearly none of it talks about the actual movie.

I cannot be contained!
As first reported by Deadline, current projections point to Captain America: Brave New World earning roughly $30+ million this weekend. Its biggest competition will be The Monkey, a new horror movie from Longlegs director Oz Perkins. That's eyeing a $17 million debut.
Back to Captain America: Brave New World, and even though $30 million is a 70% decline from its four-day Presidents' Day weekend opening, The Falcon and The Winter Soldier follow-up's three-day haul was $88 million. As a result, it's facing a weekend-to-weekend drop of around 65% which is better than both Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania (-70%) and The Marvels (-78%).

I guess you can't be contained if you're ok with believing hearsay rumors as fact

That's a shame because the movie wasn't that bad. With a few tweaks it could have been solid. I think the run of:
Marvels
Quantumania
Wakanda Forever
Love & Thunder
MoM
Eternals
Black Widow
The Falcon & Winter Soldier
She-Hulk
Miss Marvel
Secret Invasion
Echo
Agatha All Along
...were just too many negatives too close together and their cumulative impact was to lower expectations of a Marvel movie enough that people are simply no longer excited enough to turn out in large numbers unless the movies are about certain titles and/or it stars certain actors/tresses.

Puts it on par with Thor Love and Thunder, as far as the W/W drop
BNW won't make anywhere near the same amount as L&T. . .but it is light years better.
Not because BNW is some achievement, but rather because that Thor was just dogshit.

I know you're not too bright. I get that. But I can have my OWN opinion while admitting none of us really know the truth.
THEY, the studio, will never come out and straight up tell us exactly what they knew. They lie about production costs, they'll lie about damn near anything.
But keep believing the fairy tale version of events.

You're admitting you don't know the truth yet you spoke of rumors as fact not two pages ago.
You are a hypocrit and disingenuous as frick

I gave you a posted article from 5 years ago. (Not something I invented)
I laid out the sequence of events.
I gave you my opinion.

you must be trolling, because no one can be that dense.
Article comes out, saying Chadwick Boseman wasn't happy with what the studio had planned for T'Challa.
8 months later, Chadwick dies.
Movie proceeds, doing the very thing (not recasting) with the character that Chadwick was (allegedly) unhappy about.
Studio uses the death of Chadwick to kill off T'Challa, then makes Shuri the Black Panther.
i'm fricking done spelling it out for you. Cry all day long "It's JUST a rumor" but that's exactly what happened.
Any intelligent person can connect the dots. If that's not you, fine.

A rumor

Yeah, and him dying had nothing to do with them rapidly speeding up that decision.

I promise that you have been. It could have been 5 years before they decided to move on from Chadwick. Lest you forget he was very popular and literally made marvel a billion dollars. You acting like them moving on due to his sudden death is something they were going to due at the same rate is vapid thinking.

I'm trying to use small words so you'll understand. He ALREADY wasn't happy with how the movie was going, with the concept of putting Shuri out front as the next greatest thing. That's what the article says.
(I suspect they already knew he was dying, or at least, wasn't going to be up for shooting the sequel as he did the 1st BP. Regardless, the character was being nerfed, one way or another )
After he dies, they chose to not recast. Ending T'Challa, the pride of so many and an iconic figure for young black men. Just snuff him off the screen. No real explanation either. No heroic end - just an illness. How pathetic and lame.
It comes down to you wanting to believe the fairy tale version of events. Sorry to break the news to ya.

Yes, that was the RUMOR.

They didn't know, the writer and director of the movie didn't know, and your suspicion is based on a fantasy you've created in your head to justify your warped perception of how this all came about.

A decision they made to honor chadwick. One they probably regret but would never say outloud. At the time I understood why, but hindsight is always 20/20.

You've been caught. You've been proven wrong over and over itt. And I'm not going to engage with you any more.

Your article doesn’t say that. It says one day they may do it but not for black panther 2 or Avengers 5 or the new avengers after that.
Then he died and they had to scrap everything because they didn’t have time to cast a new Tchalla. So they made a mistake by pushing Shuri into the spot way too early.

Caught telling the truth and not 'inventing anything. Yes, I know. I've been saying that for how many pages now?
quote:

Nope, you're wrong. A story from Jan 2020 debunks your fairy tale and that angers you. Not sorry.

Not even a little bit have I been proven wrong. Validated to the hilt, and then some.
Disney Marvel wanted to expand the M-She-U, did so, and BP 2 failed bigly. Tragic that CB died, but instead of recasting him and pushing forward with actual Black Panther, which was so successful at the box office, they chose to girl boss it up.
Shocker.
*In agreement with all that 33 pages is too much for this movie. My contributions to this thread are now done. You're welcome.
