Multiple actors are still turning down the role of the version Black Panther Chadwick played.
I believe they're adding a male Black Panther, but he's from a different multiverse.
They replaced Howard with Cheadle because they couldn't come to a contract agreement.

Before Chadwick died, before his illness was even revealed, Disney Marvel was already planning on shoving Black Panther aside. The studio can claim all they want that 'out of resect, T'Challa's role wasn't recast'. That's 100% BS. They had an agenda and a schedule to keep. His dying wasn't going to alter that one damn bit. Just one massive opportunity to grift off his corpse, and thankfully, it failed.

Story written in January. Boseman died in August. Call it 'rumor' all you want, but look at what followed, the elevating of his passing to promote BP 2 and yes... promoting Shuri, not a recast T'Challa, to carry the franchise forward.

So not shelved. Chadwick was going to be in BP2 (which probably would've done just as well) and have a prominent role in avengers.

Ok, believe what you want. I just see they were already planning on sidelining not Boseman, but T'Challa. 'Not for a while' only played into their plans, as they knew he was sick but couldn't say a word about it, least that affect the future franchise.

I offered up a link. Not a freaking video, which I could find, but hell, so many snowflakes hate seeing vids.
