My 4 year old really wants to see this - anyone want to give an age range for appropriateness and or enjoyment level? I’ll be going with the teenager either way.

He has enjoyed several other marvel movies from home, but have selected the more fun ones. My enjoyment concern for a 4 year old is more about if this is less action oriented for the first hour or so with lots of talking etc.

Also, to all the complainers about Mackie’s unrealistic power/strength going against a hulk, it was fine.
I mean. . .because it wasn't really an issue for the ~2 minute interaction

Without spoiling it, of course

All ages

It is a CA movie. Not gonna have any offensive things in a Cap movie

I’ll spoil it since this seems to be a hang up for people who’ve haven’t even seen the movie.

Cap’s wings are made of the same vibranium as black panther’s suit. It absorbs energy, glows purple, then bursts it back towards the opponent. It’s clear in the red hulk fight that without those wings, he was dead in a second. Sam is more of an iron man type hero than super soldier in the movie.

I struggle to find the reason for the shield, given the suit. No tactical need at all

Just like why did Spider-Man even need to have superpowers after Stark gave him the suit?

EXCLUSIVE: Neither Los Angeles rain nor Northeast snow are keeping audiences away from cinemas tonight as Disney/Marvel Studios‘ Captain America: Brave New World, a continuation of both Disney+ series Falcon and the Winter Soldier and 2008’s The Incredible Hulk, is eyeing a $12M Thursday after previews which began at 2PM earlier today.

Where does that stack up to other MCU titles? Well, it’s higher than 2014’s Captain America: Winter Soldier which collected $10.2M in previews on its way to a $95M opening.

It’s also under the $17.5M previews of the last MCU title over Presidents Day weekend, 2023’s Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania which made its way to a $106.1M 3-day and $120.3M 4-day. Brave New World isn’t expected to traverse to Quantumania levels with tracking pegging a $80M 3-day and $94M 4-day. Brave New World was always a grounded action film, nothing in the multiverse sense of the word, selling itself entire on Red Hulk (how appropriate for Valentine’s Day).

That sounds so positive, but

Saw last night. Not bad not great. Better than Thor 2, Iron Man 3 way better than Eternals and Marvels, but not great either. It was basically Hulk 2 without bruce banner. Really worked on closing some loose ends. Also we would crush Japan. I found it funny they used Japan instead of China as the other country claiming the Celestel. We know it would be China not Japan and France and India. But don't want to hurt the Chinese box office.

Don't worry you can tell us all about how your favorite youtubers told you how bad it was. No time to watch a movie but you'll still likely spend 5 hours watching YouTube content about it. .

You are really one of the cancers of this board.

He clearly showed the need for the shield in defense and offense. He used the shield a lot. Plus the shield is a symbol.

He used it, but didn't need it, is the point I am making.

It being a symbol, while true, is immaterial

He would have gotten killed had he not used the shield against the fighter jets. When redwing flew with the shield and provided cover. Also multiple times the shield was used in offense to take out enemies quickly.
I disagree that he didn't need it. The vibranium suit helped a lot with hulk but the shield saved his arse multiple times.

It’s a symbol thing. Sign of the mantle Steve passed on to him. The more I think about the movie, the more I like it. The scene between Sam and you know who discussing living up to Steve’s legacy was really good.

In the real world, obviously. In the movie they were showing how this “new metal” was driving a wedge between alliances, tearing everyone apart.

Superman and Batman do not need capes. Yet, no matter the changes in costume and chest emblems over the past 80 years, Superman keeps a red cape, Batman keeps a black or dark blue cape. Cap's shield and Thor's hammer are Marvel's red and black capes. Rogers handing over his shield is one of the most dramatic, poignant, and controversial moments in Marvel film history. For the writers to throw it away for the sake of "reality" would be pretty ridiculous.

I almost forgot, kudos to Giancarlo Esposito. He's become one of my favorite actors the last 5-10 years. Thought he played his role as Sidewinder great in the movie.

It doesn’t warrant 15 minutes, if that. You vastly overestimate this movie’s significance.

MCU shills like you are why we continue to get garbage tier product posing as movies.
