This is going to be the conservative media outlet's boldest and most ambitious project to date. As I'm a sucker for all things Legend of King Arthur, I can't wait for this to hit the small screen next year. The first season (eight episodes in length) will adapt the novel Taliesin, which tells the story of the fall of Atlantis and the origins of Merlin.

Creation of the Atlantean Language

In the lore of the series, Atlantean is the original language of humanity, and the language spoken by God and His angels in Heaven. It is also the language originally spoken by Adam and Eve in the garden of Eden before the Fall.

Meeting Charis, the Lady of the Lake

Charis (aka the Lady of the Lake) is, together with the male in this scene, Taliesin, is the main protagonist of the first novel.

Morgian, the Queen of Air and Darkness

Morgian, better known to us as Morgan, is the half-sister of Charis and the main antagonist of the series as a whole.

More BTS footage

Interesting. I was always curious what kind of production they were getting into. If they start producing some fantasy written by actual genre loving nerds and not genderfluid fanfic hacks I'm so in.

So this is a different Morgan than the one who will eventually become Arthur’s nemesis?

A real Wheel of Time adaptation would be amazing.

No. I think the author of the novels just spells her name differently. She is the novel series' Morgan le Fey.

I’m not so sure. Even with a billion dollar budget, the story is so long and sprawling and I just don’t see how certain things could ever translate well to film. All the inner dialogues and dream walking etc.

It’s a much smaller and newer story but the Mistborn series would translate great IMO.

Relatedly, I saw on Prime that an adaptation of Bernard Cornwell’s Arthur trilogy was made. Fantastic trilogy and recall he’s the author of the Last Kingdom series which Netflix did. Anyone see it yet?

That Lady of the Lake clip shows more authenticity and dedication than anything Amazon put into Rings of Power.

Does this mean they won’t put a chick in it and make it lame and gay?

I wouldn’t say anything they’ve done is Oscar worthy but none of their releases are terrible.

Terror on the Prarie was a bit boring but intense at the right parts.

Brandon Sanderson has been talking about this for a year or so.

Agreed. Run fight hide was underrated.

What is a woman is obviously unscientific and shouldn’t be taken seriously in many regards, but it took me from “just build them different bathrooms and let them have their own sports league” to “and then for seemingly no reason whatsoever, Hitler was voted into power” fairly quickly.

I disagree. One of the big problems WoT faces now (aside from the obvious of Rafe wanting to tell the story as how he wants it to go instead of the original) is that they are trying to compress so much down into a "season" of only 8 episodes. The series would need only small changes if there were someone with Jackson/LoTR dedication running it and it were 12-20 episodes per season.

She barely survives and using guns not fists.

Which is ironic because she’s one of the few actresses in the world who probably could beat up a fair amount of men.

This is a pretty decent book series. I think the author is a very good writer, though his storytelling is meh at times. But The Daily Wire producing it gives me very low expectations. I hope I’m wrong because it could be very good if they can get some talented writers in there.

Just watching the BTS videos their YouTube channel puts out every week shows that the production values are definitely going to be above average. They clearly care about making this look like Roman Britain. If this were any other company making it people would be comparing the footage to that of The Last Kingdom.
