Ok Bruce. Mel Gibson is going to try and tell me Lethal Weapon isn’t a Christmas movie next.

weird cause i just read this article from the screenwriter today

Yes, It its a christmas movie

quote:

It's a debate that has been waged for years: Is "Die Hard" a Christmas movie? Stuart says, heck yes. "That whole concept came back to the idea, it did take place around Christmas time in the novel," he said. But that was only one reason why. He said the practical writer's reason was to explain why the building was empty besides the office party going on.

quote:

Stuart also said it's a holiday film because of "the family aspect of it." "John comes out to L.A. and he's really annoyed at all these things that don't stack up to his image of what family should be," he said. "His wife is using her maiden name, she's working, she's got the kids ... then two hours later, you really cut away all the stuff that doesn't matter." For him, that's what a Christmas movie is all about. Also thought it doesn't usually snow in L.A., there's the scene at the end where all the valuable bonds explode after the bad guys have failed to steal them, creating the visual as if it's almost snowing, which Stuart says looks like, "well, it IS Christmas."

to me it is a Christmas Movie - I watch it every Christmas - why would I care what anyone else says?

Ain't this some SJW shite here. Willis knows it's a Christmas movie but the snowflakes dont want Santa Clause to have share his day with us normals so yet again the SJW's have to ruin everything for us normals

I don't hate anyone, but i'm pretty well convinced, if i knew some of you people in real life, i would probably not like you very much.

Lighten up you pretentious assholes. It's a mildly amusing joke that has gotten a bit played out. It doesn't need in depth analysis.

I still hate the part where he hangs Jeff Hanneman by that chain.

One of my top 5 movies ever. I've never considered it a Christmas movie. Never really thought about it either way.

It happens at Christmas time but, it's not "about" Christmas.

The Santa Clause
Christmas Vacation
Jingle All The Way

seem like Christmas movies

Die Hard
Lethal Weapon

Don't seem like Christmas movies to me.

It is a movie that takes place during Christmas, it is not a Christmas movie. Never understood why people even had this debate.

Lethal Weapon is not considered a Christmas movie. Why would Die Hard?

I would rather watch Die Hard than Christmas with the Kranks for the millionth time. I'm even tired of Christmas Vacation after having watched it at least once a year for 28 years.

The only Christmas films I watch regularly that I haven't tired of is It's a Wonderful Life and 1938's A Christmas Carol.

Die Hard and Lord of the Rings Return of the King seem like perfectly acceptable Christmas films to me.

Ahh, so the debate is settled. It's a Wonderful Life is not a Christmas movie.
