what was with walt telling jesse to tell his girl the truth about everything?
Posted on 7/29/12 at 10:28 pm to thermal9221
Walt was manipulating Jesse into breaking it off with the girl as a way to protect himself. As we saw at the end Walt didn't really care about Jesse's relationship as he cut Jesse off to complain about the money.

The evolution of Walt.

One of the interesting tidbits from this episode is when marie tries to prepare for walts birthday. That means from season 1 ep1 to season 5 ep3 is about year in time.

Yeah...crazy to think only a year has passed.

That can't be correct...can it? Skyler was Prego in the first season and which season did she give birth?

You're correct.

In the current resolution to the cooking problem, how do they resolve the power consumption issue?
Are the large power bills going to be explained by the use of 'foggers' ?

I have a question, kind of unrelated.
Does anyone think another cartel will try to move in? They have to know that gus and the other cartel are out and will want to try and fill the void. There might not be enough room for it in the show but realistically you would think that would happen.

I was blown away by the realization of just how much had gone on in the span of a year. After the premiere I guess I should have realized it with the shower in the future and it only being two years since the beginning, but that really made it sink home.
There's definitely gonna be a power struggle between Mike and Walt. He's just too ruthless now for it not to happen. The subtle way he manipulates Jesse, the way he lied while being honest to Marie (I wonder if there's not a degree of trying to paint Skyler as a bad person there), he's all about control.

For how good this show is...Skylar really is a horrible character. I understand it may be stressful but a mental breakdown should have happened somewhere before Walt was hiding money under the trap door in your house last season.
Her reaction at this point is beyond ludicrious as she hasnt been involved in any violence.

Except it's been days since she discovered the level of violence that has permeated her life (and her family). Look at how she's been since the premiere. Zombie-like. Unresponsive. She was in shock. Her husband has just orchestrated the death by bombing of a MAJOR figure in the community. I repeat, bombing. In a nursing home. Clearly he gives no shits. When Walt was hysterically laughing under the house at the loss of the money she freaked to be sure, but she freaked at the threat of some unknown menace. That unknown evil has now become known, and sometimes the evil you know is even scarier than what you had imagined. Just my opinion. She's a horrible character, there's no denying that, but I don't see it as some glaring oversight on the part of Vince.

In the first scene of this season he was turning 52....I think that scene is going to also be the opening scene of the series finale.
