I suck if I missed it, but what did they poison the Cartel with? I thought it was the ricin

It wouldn't have been the Ricin, as that takes days to affect the person, and they die of flu like symptoms. What they used on the cartel was fast acting (<30 minutes) and it caused a severe nerve reaction.

Yeah, it was some tetrodotoxin type thing.

Yeah, it gives you enough time to start to panic a little.

And this is probably a dumb question and already been answered but aren't M60s and all other machine guns straight up illegal for people to own? Regardless of 2nd amendment right?

Carson's your man for that question, but the little I understand is the Federal Assault Weapon Ban enacted in the early 90's made automatic weapons illegal as frick.
I think there are some parts that elapsed and republican congress didn't extend them but full on auto weapons are a pretty long stretch in federal prison.

like suppressors and short barreled rifles, machine guns are class III NFA items that require a tax stamp and submission of a special form to the ATF that i wont get into. have to get fingerprinted and and permission from local police chief, etc. you can own one if you do the above. only part that takes forever is approval of the form (5-8 months because they're so backed up)
i doubt walt did the proper paperwork for his

well, the time it took him to grow his hair back out is about the time it takes for atf clearance...

Garage scene really made the episode better for me.
"Tread lightly"

And this has been the case since the 1934 - in an effort to regulate "gangster" weapons.
Certainly Walt purchased the M-60 on the "below legal" market for Class III NFA items.

csb (dreamed about this stupid show last night)
in my dream, walt gets grazed by a bullet in the forehead in a shoot out with the DEA and pretends to be dead.
hank takes him to a less than reputable dr who fakes the autopsy and he goes into hiding
a year later hank uses an earthmover to dig up several mulch bags filled with walt's meth
walt reappears and skyler is now happy and they're going to let hank deal with the meth while they go about their life
then the guys he met (SAY MY NAME scene) show up to try & get walt & skyler to cook
then suddenly lydia busts in with 4 or 5 russians with silencers and in a matter of seconds everyone in the house is dead except for walt, skyler & their kids and she tells him he now has no choice but to cook for her
yeah it sounded much more plausible at 5:30am this morning when i was waking up.

Anybody notice the contrast between the garage door scene in this episode and the scene from the first half of the season where Walt closed the garage door on Jesse shutting him out?

Doors are a motif in the show - the door to the RV, the door to get into Gus' labs, the door at the car wash and the garage doors. (And, obviously, others.)
