Yep. Which makes you wonder if he's going to end up going after Nucky when it's all said and done?
FTR, I absolutely hate some of the women left on this show. Talk about a bunch of broads with damn near no redeeming qualities (unless you're a guy obviously).

I think Nucky is going to start to feel to powerful and he's going to end up biting the hand that feeds him (Shooter McGavin).
Can't wait until next week to see where his brother and Chalky fit into all of this.

Yeah he's definitely feeling his oats right now. That much is obvious by his party, the showgirl he's banging, and just his general demeanor towards everyone he works with. It'll be interesting to see what happens to put him in his place, because you know it's coming. And it seems to likely come in the form of Gyp Rosetti.
Speaking of, I thought it was interesting that Rosetti loses his shite with...well...everyone at the table during the sit down but is extremely polite to Margaret on the way out of the door.

All related. Harrow is going to be the man. The foreshadowing on the boardwalk game is just the begining.

Foreshadowing. Last person he saw with that dog, he killed.
To me, that was definitely a message.

Didn't even think of it like that. Damn.

Awesome episode
Gyp is freaking insane. He's going to go down in a blaze of glory IMO, and Nucky will be the one who pulls the trigger.

Would be a good way to end the series a couple years from now if Harrow takes out Nucky in the end.
Agreed on the women in the show, it's pretty bad. The only real positive is Paz being gone, cause that's one less annoying as hell woman hanging around.
Jimmy's mom playing as his son's mom is just damn creepy.

Don't forget that Shooter McGavin's boss, President Harding, drops dead in 1923 of heart failure. There were a lot of scandels in Harding's term including Teapot Dome, mentioned in the meeting with Nucky. So the change in administrations should add some twists with Coolidge taking over.

I'm all in for Owen now that Jimmy's gone.

I thought the same thing. Richard didn't seem to appreciate that he couldn't talk about her anymore so he decided to go blow manny's head off.

A few points:
Shooter McGavin (funny no one uses his character's real name...
) mentions to Nucky that $40,000/month he's paying him isn't 5% of his monthly intake. This means Nucky's organization is making over $800,000/month in 1923 dollars?! Big time!
The introduction of O'Bannon, the Irish florist/mobster that Van Alden "saves" reflects a lot of actual history in Chicago at the time. You might not want to research this as it may give away future plot lines.
And if Harrow doesn't get to it first, Milton is gonna burn the whole place down.

Can someone explain to me about the dancer girl Nucky bangs at the end. Yall keep talking about Rothstein hitting it too. Did this happened in a past season or in this first episode and I somehow missed it?

He mentioned it at Nucky's party. She's his tenant in one of his places in NYC.
I thought of what Lucy told Margarette right after she found out Margarette and Nucky were hooking up- that he likes to play the good Catholic boy every couple of years, but after awhile he starts to play the field again. It didn't surprise me to see the singer in his hotel.
Eli didn't play too big of a role in this episode. I wonder if he's going to be back to being a right hand man, or if Nucky will make him be a bitch for awhile.
Good first episode.

Even though I feel at this point in the thread it's not needed, just to be sure:
SPOILERS!!
So fricking awesome when Horvitz opened the door to a shotgun blast by Richard. Richard is my favorite character and I loved seeing him get back at Horvitz for Angela and Jimmy.
How about Van Alden? Showed he still has cold blood running through him with that flower shop stand-off. He was pissed about that sales bonus.
Gillian pisses me off. Would love to see Richard off her and raise the boy.
