Im glad this thread got the word out, looks like we had a lot of new comers because of it

I'm certainly thankful for it. I wouldn't have watched it otherwise.

Im on s4s5 now. Taking me a lot longer to rewatch than I expected.
This thread went from a simple yes it is answer to 12 pages and making quite a few people start watching and rewatching a show

I took it as joining him. He would be at peace just to be with him.
There was some speculation that he possibly died and that was “heaven” for him right after the show ended but it was disputed by the creators that he really did live and got his happy ending.

Probably the same people that thought the ending of LOST was purgatory the whole time...:shotsfired:

Finished my rewatch yesterday.
Damn those final two episodes deliver.
I mean that is how you wrap a show up. I mean outside of Billy's ending, I dont think you could have done it any better.
*spoilers*
Looking back I was surprised how little attention they gave to Elanor's death or how it played a factor in very little after. Nobody seemed to care. I know she wasnt a character you really cared a ton about once she switched sides but she was still a top 5 character of importance the entire show. They didnt even end the episode with her death. She died like mid episode and then were like, ok, moving right along.
Also, the rewatch just confirmed it is probably my favorite closing scene to a show.
When Jack is talking about a legacy and how people remember you and the importance of the art (he had been picky about it and disappointed in every flag drawn up for him), then they unveil the "calico jack" rackham flag, the best pirate flag ever, he just stares and says "its fine. *walks off* ... it's fine."
Damnit man

Damn, you are going to make me do a re-watch already talking like that

Also, reading up about pirate lure even more as I went along, it looks like the flag they used for Black Beard or Charles Vane, was actually the Edward (Ned) Low flags, except they used it in black. Unless im not remembering it right.
This was actually Black Beards flag and I dont think this is what they used...
It was one of the 1st to be called the Jolly Rodgers flag.

I finished S2 a couple nights ago, and it was pretty awesome.
Spoilers (I know most are way past me, but some may be starting the show new)...
Was not expecting Miranda to get capped in the head like that. That caught me way off guard. And it was cool seeing Flint go from being ready to abandon the Flint name and go full on Little House on the Prairie as McGraw and Miranda...to full up embracing the Flint name and creating havoc.
Vane's rescue attempt was just a tad bit brazen and unbelievable, but it was still cool nonetheless. His men turning the cannons inward was cool as hell, even if they could have just as easily killed Vane and Flint too.
I am interested to see where they take Eleanor's story, although I doubt I will much care as she has always been one of the weakest parts of the show.
Sucks for Silver to get his leg got like that, but I guess that had to happen since he is known for the peg leg thing eventually. It should be interesting to see what happens once it comes to light that he is the mastermind behind the Urca gold lie and not Vincent.
Vane still weirds me out for some reason when I look at him, and I still can't figure out why. He just looks off, physically. It's strange.

I mean even on the rewatch the Miranda capping took me by surprise She had actually started to become a pretty good character.
Elanor's character does change, and being honest, if you dont like her now, she isnt going to get any better. She was actually a character I liked early on and then she just turns into the definition of meh. I still disliked Max's character worse though. I mean her story line is decent, but she is just annoying to me and her voice. God that voice/accent is just horrible.
Yea seeing how Silver loses his leg was pretty hard to watch. Yeesh. I liked seasons 3 and 4 more than I did 1 and 2. Silvers character really takes off from there.

Are there any good videos breaking down individual character motivations as the show goes on? My gf is watching it and keeps asking questions but it's been a while since I've watched and I cant remember all that well since they change as the show goes on

Finished it about a week ago and then watched the Charlton Heston version of Treasure Island.

Just finished today. I really enjoyed it. I have a few questions since I binged this recently and wasn't onboard originally.
Did the show only plan to do 4 seasons, or was it canceled?
Where Flint met up with Thomas, is it a prison camp? Or could they do whatever they wanted?
Do we assume Billy was marooned and died? That's why I ask if they got canceled.

Billy eventually finds the map to Flint’s treasure and dies at the beginning of Treasure Island.

Nah, I'm still here. GLOW came out and I watched that in my free time, and then just haven't had time to watch as much lately.
I actually just finished S3E6 (XXIV) a few nights ago. Spoilers...
It was the one where Flint challenged Blackbeard to a fight and then Vane intercedes and saves Flint. And Rackham goes back to Nassau to be pardoned, but gets arrested anyway.
I'm really liking the series, just haven't had time to watch at the same pace I was a while back. I'm gonna finish it though. It's good.
