It was okay. It wasn’t good. It wasn’t bad. It was okay.

I just finished it. I don't care for the Iron Heart character and this just wasn't for me.

Saw the movie last night and if they keep going like this they may as well rename the MCU to the M-She-U.
Almost every major character was female. M'Baku, Attuma and Namor were the only male warriors of note while the female warriors were always highly featured. It's like they are trying to set up Wakanda as being a sort of Marvel Themyscira.
The tributes to Boseman were excellent. This was a touching farewell to him.
The whole Feds-being-after-them thing in Boston was useless and broke immersion a bit. They set the stage of (white) world powers greeding after Vibranium at the beginning of the movie. For what legal reason were they after the Wakandans? If Wakandan technology is so superior, how were they detected and tracked in the first place?
They could have still had the Atlantean (yeah, I know... I'm too old to think of them differently) confrontation and then have the police show up to see what was going on. That would have removed the needless car-chase scene without removing any needed to push the story.
Riri was far more tolerable in the movie than in the comics.
Her character adapted a bit too fast to being a warrior for me. She should still have had problems with learning her suit (which would have made her ability to figure it out or adjust more important, thus fleshing her out a bit more). Her character's personality was a bit generic, instead of the kneejerk "she's black so she's street" linguistics I would have rathered see her more bookwormish. She could still have been selling test papers and such, but being very low-profile about it (some music other than rap or R&B playing in her room would have been a nice touch as well to break her from the cliche).
Namor... yeesh. They completely fricked his character. I don't mind the changing of Atlanteans to Mayans (although the inclusion of European "colonizers" was a bit pathetic) and found that to be an interesting re-write. Giving Namor the whole Mayan god thing though, it was too divergent. Namor is cocky, but in a manner akin to Doom; there's a regality in his bearing that speaks of the ability to prove why he acts the way he does. He's also given to bipolar mood swings (possibly because of the changes to his body due to going from water to air and back), making his rage something to fear. Hell, even his "Imperious Rex" was lackluster.
His being a "mutant" was a quiet bomb. Some instantly know the significance of this, some do not.
Another issue was language, or rather "languageS". We have ancient Mayan, English and Wakandan. Within a week (movie time) we have Mayans speaking Wakandan and English fluently and Wakandans speaking Mayan fluently. Not only that, but by the end of the movie they're bouncing all around the languages like they had spoken all three their entire lives.
The real story in Wakanda seemed to be the one they missed and/or barely touched on: M'Baku and Shuri. Their one-on-one conversation was a great scene and the two seemed to share a solid chemistry. Visually it was great as well because
I liked the addition of a son for T'Challa and that he's being brought up away from Wakanda (at least for now) but was disappointed there wasn't a 2nd post-credit scene to touch on movements in the greater MCU.
All in all, it wasn't bad but it had a constant feel of missed potential (like much of the content since WandaVision). I'm glad we saw it in a (mostly empty) theater but I doubt I would watch it again if I stumbled across it once it hits TV screens.

Her character from start to finish reminded me of Big Hero 6 and Hiro from her backstory to her costume at the end. Wasn’t a fan.
I liked it overall. The villain did the “doing bad things for good reasons” trope but better than most. I liked his backstory and how it fit into the narrative. It was a clever way to bring in the character. Shuri’s arc was good. They did well with what they had to work with. Ramonda was good as well. She played the part of an angry leader without looking too hysterical like most women playing part probably would. I wasn’t too distracted by the lack of male leads. The two that were there didn’t come off as wimps. Glad Val has more of a backstory.

I think it’s a bit more believable and less distracting because it’s all established central characters. The Dora for example. It’s not forced like the A-Team moment in Endgame.

Yeah I finally got around to watching this one. Better than I thought. Much better. I really enjoyed pretty much everyone other than Riri Williams. Too many characters being introduced that are just too similar personality wise. She wasn't any different in character than Kate Bishop and Kamala Khan. I guess I'm just not a huge fan of the younger characters outside of Yelena.
Namor was incredible. Based on the discussion threads, I expected him to have his arse handed to him by Shuri once she became BP but he still handed her an arse whooping despite being drained and away from water. She was clearly outclassed, which is fine. Im glad Shuri wasn't OP. I thought her arc was fantastic as well. Nakia and the Queen were incredible too. All 4 of those actors brought their A game and elevated an average plot.

I noticed in the first teaser trailer there was a scene of what appears to be Okoye getting ready to fight the rest of the Dora Milaje. That scene was obviously absent from the movie, and am curious what's the circumstances behind it.

He was incredible...ly BAD.
Completely changed his (and his people's) origin story to some woke, anti-white anti-Christian bullcrap, turned him from an Atlantean to a Meso-American, changed his appearance (earrings, moustache/goatee and freakin' BONE IN HIS NOSE) and even changed the reason and pronunciation of his name (comics and cartoons have always pointed out that Namor-- pronounced "NAME-or"-- was Atlantean for "avenging son". The movie gives us a colonial priest who calls him "a devil - a child without love" in Spanish: "el diablo - el nino sin amor" the later two syllables which he takes as his name and is pronounced "nam-ORR").

Setting aside the need to deal with Chadwick's untimely passing away, you would think people as advanced as the Wakandans would put T'Challa in suspended animation like they did with Bucky to give them as much time as needed to find a cure.
