So you're saying maybe we should go see it for ourselves because critics are shite?

I'm saying that aggregated critic or audience scores are both shite.

Read some reviews from critics that, for the most part, line up with your opinions on movies that you've seen and that they reviewed and trust their opinion.

Never trust an audience score.

And most importantly, go see movies that look interesting to you and ignore everyone else's opinion.

Like we used to.

That’s a straw man, I’m talking about the common practice of paid ratings which most people know is true yet you pretend isn’t.

( Do you need to see Shazam first?

No. There is an extremely brief reference to Black Adam maybe 20 or so minutes into Shazam but if you didn't know who he was it wouldn't matter. There is a second very small reference to the character near the end but again it is so vague that only Captain Marvel fans would pick up on it.

The Rock plays The Rock while wearing different costumes.

But he doesn't 'sell' roles. he doesn't suspend my disbelief. He's the rock, in every fricking movie - And it's gotten old.

I am 100% over that fricking guy.

This movie seems like it was made solely to stroke The Rock’s ego

I have 0% interest in this movie, nor do my kids. Nobody can seem to figure out the plot or purpose of the movie. And casting the Rock was a mistake.

Mostly the same Costumes.

Those slipped by us. Trust me, those at fault were voted out at our very next meeting of the Disney Illuminati.

Didn't the initial release of reviews have WW84 sitting at like 84% positive? Lol why do people still pay attention to the initial reviews especially when it involves superhero movies?

When the Wizard Shazam is going over his history with his magical holographic diorama, there's a reference to his previous attempt to give his power to someone (that went wrong).

At the end of the film, the Shazam Family take their seats at the Rock of Eternity, and notice that there is an extra throne left empty.

That movie was getting middling reviews from the get-go, though the critical consensus was more generous than what the big brains her thought about it.
