Despite what Ewan tried to say FK is right. The film isn't some woke feminist film. Maybe try watching the movie before jumping on the retard bandwagon

It may not be woke, but every single male character in the film is a piece of shite. They also did everything in their power not to sexualize Harley Quinn when that has been one of the main staples of her character since its inception.

We get it, misogyny is bad and should be avoided at all costs. There's no reason to beat us over the head with it for two hours, an in a comic book movie to boot.

Add into the fact that the people who go to see these films are mostly horny men in their late-teens/mid-20s, it's no wonder why this movie failed to meet expectations.

Also...the R rating was totally unnecessary.

International update

Overseas, #BirdsOfPrey keeps performing better than in the US, grossing est 23M this weekend, dropping 50.5%, lifting its international cume to 83.6M.
Allied to its 59.3M domestic cume, #BoP’s Global cume at the #BoxOffice stands at 142.9M.
Eyeing a 200-220M final run globally.

That's just false or are you completely ignoring Huntress' backstory?
Also virtually all non main characters were assholes

If you're going to movie just to stare at Margot Robbie maybe just stay at home and watch porn

Clearly you didn't watch the movie

Judging from the box office returns, that's exactly what most people did.

The vast majority of men don't go to see movies with actors like Margot Robbie and Alexandra Daddario in starring roles to witness their superior acting chops.

Yeah I'm sure that's why it failed, not because of poor marketing or the choice of picking unknown characters to the GA

This is most certainly not a reason why it failed. How many people had heard of characters like Peter Quill, Rocket Raccoon, Drax the Destroyer, Groot, and Gamora before 2014? When Marvel announced Guardians of the Galaxy after The Avengers came out in 2012, I thought it was the next Avengers film.

I'm a casual fan of comic books and even I had heard of characters like Harley Quinn, Huntress, and Black Canary.

Based purely on curiosity, I wonder how a fellow blonde Aussie, one Samara Weaving, would have done in the Harley Quinn role.

I think Samara done quirky a lot better based on the films she has done.

That's only part of it. Female team up movies are also box office poison at the moment. I can't think of the last time one was financially successful. Bridesmaids, perhaps?

Weaving is underrated to be sure but Robbie is perfect for Quinn. The problem is the same with any female actor/character who shows promise or potential. The Hollywood Woke gets a hold of them and ruins them.

Yeah, the people who made the movie disagree with you.

It's funny how people are ignoring what the cast and crew are saying about their own film. I get why they are defending themselves for liking this movie. They don't want to admit they're fans of third wave feminist trash.

But don't worry guys, it's okay to be beta. Someone has to be.

Because that's obviously just virtue signaling. The actual film itself isn't remotely similar to what people like Ewan were saying

Ewan is an idiot for saying stuff like that.

A healthy portion of blame for this entire fiasco can be placed at his feet.

Weaving has the crazy eyes. She'd have done Harley justice.

It all falls on him for doing that one interview while no one else associated with the film said anything remotely like that.

TOo bad there was only harly quinn in the movie. I didnt see a huntress or black canary. At least none I recognize. Their casting choice is like Halle Barry Catwoman. Wrong choice and so it flop.

Ah there you are! Yeah I thought the movie was a dud also, but not because of this, its amazing that with some of you it always comes back to this. You clearly don't know anything about live action Catwoman, google Ertha Kitt and educate yourself. She has by far more screentime as Catwoman than anyone!

Yeah, putting the blame for that Catwoman movie on Halle Berry is pretty unfair. I've never made it through the entire film, but it was pretty obvious that casting was the least of their problems.
