Really solid horror movie that came out today. Sandra Bullock stars in it. Critics are hating on it hard, but I don’t understand why.
The book came out in 2014 and was excellent.
quote:
When a mysterious force decimates the population, only one thing is certain -- if you see it, you die. The survivors must now avoid coming face to face with an entity that takes the form of their worst fears. Searching for hope and a new beginning, a woman and her children embark on a dangerous journey through the woods and down a river to find the one place that may offer sanctuary. To make it, they'll have to cover their eyes from the evil that chases them -- and complete the trip blindfolded.
The book came out in 2014 and was excellent.

I thought it was pretty good.
It was like The Happening if M Knight had actually made it good.

The trailer made it seem like Netflix lost the bid on A Quiet Place and then they changed the script a little and went with it

True. Critics hated A Quiet Place, Hereditary, and Halloween.

Seeing a lot of hate that it’s “A Quiet Place” rip off when people don’t realize the book came out in 2014.

It's better than a quiet place.

I just watched it and it isn’t in the same stratosphere as A Quiet Place. It misses the mark on pacing and suspense, where A Quiet Place really excelled. The time jumps really ruin any flow the movie has, as well. If not for some good acting, it would’ve been an even bigger letdown.

Watched last night with no expectations. I thought it was pretty solid. Didn't care for the ending but I'm used to that with these type of movies. Definitely disagree with it being better than A Quiet Place but worth a watch.

When you get the Stephen King nod of approval, you know you are good. When Stephen King then calls the reviewers out for bias bullshite... Maybe it's time to look in the mirror reviewers.

I just so happened to rent A Quiet Place to watch over the Christmas break, so thinking about watching it tonight or tomorrow night. I really liked Bird Box, not a huge fan of the ending, but it was a really good movie all around

The ending was just really bad. **SPOILERS**
I kept waiting for the entire timeline to have been her “greatest fear” in that she never wanted to be a mother. So the whole story would’ve been her reaction to seeing what she shouldn’t have after she stared her sister in the eyes after she was affected but before she moved in front of the truck.
I wanted to like it, but I felt like the only thing that stood out was Sandra Bullock, she killed it.

I love Stephen King, but that guy Gave his personal stamp of approval to the Zombie Halloween remake. So, grain of salt.

I read the novel but haven’t seen the movie yet. Does the follow the novel pretty closely?

I enjoyed it up until the ending. I saw a review that said it’s like the climax happens at the beginning and then the film does its best to hang on, and I agree with that. Also there are several things I wanted the answer to that we never find out.

I thought it was everything a good Disney owned Netflix original is meant to be. It had everything: horror, suspense, action, pacing, forced interracial relationship, and most importantly a good ending!

Watched last night it was decent. Did not ending as well. Wanted to be some type of twist.

The opening monologue by Sandra Ballock was cringe.
It is the worst part of the movie. Even compared against the ending. IDK why it bothered me so much.
