He’s trying to convince himself there are other options because he doesn’t want to be the conniving liar, but deep down he knows what he has to do.
There are five or six (Kat even if Bella leaves) on that side. What does a week or two do for you?
You have to take real shots at their core or you don’t deserve to win and you won’t.
And like Derrick said, if you can’t convince KAT, who has been passed over for Holly that she is at the bottom of that alliance you just don’t deserve to win.

Cliff to Jack and Tommy - "There's ways I could screw everyone over...I'm just not going to do that. Y'all have to put faith in me, but you'll learn I'm a man of my word."
Tells them Bella is the target, it should be unanimous minus Nick.
In comes Christie.
Cliff tells them that the house seems ready for Bella to go; her leaving would allow everyone to take a sigh of relief. I know Jack is tempting but Cliff isn't wrong, Bella leaving makes everyone happy.

At a minimum Cliff needs to force Christie to use the diamond power of veto. He has two options, force her to use it or lie to her and put her up if she doesn’t use it.

That would be dumb. There are so many idiots on this season. i mean how did they not figure out the 8-9 person alliance prior to this week? They literally had meetings and told people not to come in all the while they were hooping and hollering. And I agree if Cliff whiffs on a chance to take one of the 6 out, then I won’t feel nearly as bad when he goes home
