Am I the only one who never had a problem with him? Seemed like a hardworking, decent dude. Seemed obvious pretty early on that Chuck was the one cockblocking Jimmy. Howard seemed like a solid dude the entire time.

Howard fell on the sword for Chuck so he didn't have to be the bad guy with Jimmy.

He was a little douchey but a good guy for the most part.

he's smarmy as all hell and acts fake as frick like many lawyers, but I don't think he was bad. HE certainly didn't deserve the treatment he got from jimmy and kim.

Howard did nothing wrong and didn't deserve hit fate.

At his core was a good guy just trying to make his marriage work and keep his practice afloat all while Jimmy and Kim tried to ruin his life.

I wonder there’s been any discussion about the parallels of Howard and Jimmy following in the footsteps/shadow of their brother and father. I feel like Howard would’ve eventually wanted to throw up that extra M on HHM for Jimmy if he had hired him originally and Jimmy behaved himself.

Howard was a better man than jimmy/saul. Probably half the low life's in saul's office were better people than him.

Howard, despite personality quirks, was a decent man.

Hurricane,

Yeah he is the Hank equivalent for BCS.

The antagonist to the protagonist in a story where the villain is the hero.

Supposed to make the audience think about who they are really rooting for.

The scene when he tells Kim about Jimmy throwing bowling balls at his car, I really felt bad for the dude. I thought "Jimmy and Kim are some pieces of shite."

Howard was a good guy. Hate his wife though. BCS made a lot of people dislike him because he had a privileged life thanks to his dad and dressed like a douche. And Chuck was right about Jimmy.

Howard is one of the few legitimately good people who's also a major character in the BB universe. That list is short.

Howard
Hank
Gomez
...
.....
.......

I got no one else, really.

No I agree With you

He comes off as the bad guy only because our protagonist is in fact a bad guy.

Nacho’s dad isn’t quite a “major” character, but he’s probably the next on the list. One of the few unambiguously good people in the show.

I think it’s near consensus amongst anyone who watched past the first couple seasons that Howard was an alright guy who was irrationally targeted by Jimmy and Kim. He did try to drag out the Sandpiper settlement for his own gain at the expense of MeeMaw and Peepaw, so he’s not exactly a “great” guy, but still terribly wronged and unappreciated by J &K for all the chances he gave them.
