Taken as serious cinema and technique.... which film is the most egregious violator of film, failing in every aspect and way?
THE ROOM
BIRDEMIC
THE ROOM
BIRDEMIC

The Room
The people behind Birdemic knew what they were doing. TW just thinks he knows what he's doing

The Room wins because it's TRYING to be this super dramatic love thriller that is just so unintentionally hilarious

The Room for sure. The people involved with Birdemic knew it was terrible, but Tommy Wiseau thought his film was a cinematic masterpiece that can stand alongside Citzen Kane. It's really as if Wisseau really is an extraterrestrial and has no idea how human emotions and motives actually work.
This movie shows you basically everything from every level of filmmaking on what not to do. The film is so gloriously incompetent that it really did turn into a completely unintentional masterpiece, and I say without shame that this is one of my favorite films. This should be required viewing for film students.

Miami Connection is the correct answer.

Intent was not one of my variables
but if it's the only distinguishing factor, then so be it.

it's more like, the storytelling and dialogue are way off

Maybe not, but I can't seriously consider any movie that is trying its best to be as schlocky as possible to be the best worst movie. I won't even watch any of the Asylum movies because of that.
Troll 2 is a better comparison imo since those people actually thought they were trying to make a good movie. I think the directors even got pissed and wouldn't do any interviews in the documentary because no one takes Troll 2 seriously.

no one ever talks about troll 1. was that any good?

This sounds familiar.

No clue, I doubt it, but the documentary about Troll 2 talks about how the director and writer, which was a foreign husband/wife team, were brought on and it had nothing to do with Troll
ETA - Apparently, the original stars Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Sonny Bono

to answer the original question: The Room.
its really easy to make a bad cgi movie. look at the syfy channel. to make an entertaining, horrible drama is actually very hard. usually you dont entertain people during a bad drama. they get bored and stop watching.
wiseau stumbled into something great by pure accident.

I've never heard of this movie until this thread. The thread caused me to research the movie on google.
I now wanna see it for myself, yet I have no idea how to watch it here in southwest Missouri.
Here's a really interesting review on "The Room":

I met the guy who made Birdemic and I guarantee you he didn't know he was making a terrible movie.

It was a pretty standard cheesy horror movie. Much better than Troll 2. And Troll actually had a troll in it!
